[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Playing game with a regular keyboard is no fun as the response time can be very slow. I do have an older gaming keyboard but it is quite heavy and not convenient to carry around in my backpack. I am so glad Steelseries came out with this Apex Pro mini wireless gaming keyboard.
Not only it is super compact and portable but it is not too heavy, looks super cool and most importantly, it is lightning fast compared to anything I previously used for gaming.
The keyboard is easily customizable and all I had to do is download the Steelseries GG software which allowed me to customize everything to my liking. The 2-in-1 action key option is also very nice and the keys will behave differently depending on how I press on them.
I know it is a gaming keyboard but I got used to it very quickly and like it so much that I have been using it for work too. As for quality, everything is top quality just like anything Steelseries makes.
All in all, I really like my new gaming keyboard which gets a well deserved 5 stars rating from me.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Apex Pro Mini Wireless is compact, easy to charge and connect to your computer, and is the fastest keyboard I’ve ever owned. You can customize the sensitivity of the keys as well as their illumination, and even set 2-in-1 action key binds. I wish I knew keyboards like this existed sooner!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] You have install the steel series software which is easy, then go to engine and update. Make sure you have all the updates done, have the dongle in the computer and use the cord it comes with to charge it.
The keys are nice and tactile and quiet. Very light. Use the steel series key to use the F keys and etc. The esc key blinks when charging and it is a stable green when charged. The cap key is white when capslock is on. You can set how far you have to press the keys for it to notice. It works with computer and Xbox. And works with bluetooth. It is multi color and really cool!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm in love with my new Apex Pro Mini keyboard, it's so beautiful, I love the RGB lighting.
It's so insane how much less space this keyboard takes up when compared to my old keyboard, so I now have a lot of space for my mouse (if you play FPS games, you must know how important it is for your gaming session).
I'm also crazy about the Omnipoint technology, with the adjustment of the keys, it made my games much more responsive and faster, it's definitely the best keyboard ever for me

Solid gaming wireless keyboard

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a really solid little gaming keyboard and overall I like it a lot. This review is for the wireless version.
Things I really like about it:
- Super compact.
- It's wireless (if you got the wireless version)!
- It comes with a USB-C adapter to connect wirelessly.
- It supports bluetooth, didn't even need the dongle to connect to my laptop!
- Did not need to install any software to get it to be usable as a basic keyboard.
- It has a built in battery that is rechargeable. It charges with a USB-C cable.
- The keys are very nice, mechanical feel but fairly quiet. They are soft and super smooth.
- Looks great, glowy RGB colors, feels heavy and solid.
Although this keyboard isn't particularly thin or light weight, it is very compact making it a good travel gaming keyboard or small desks.
Other reviews can tell you all about how they are special magnetic switches, programmable, and super fancy-fast. It does appear that the software has tons of macros, sensitivity settings, light settings and everything a customization fanatic could need, but I'm just going to cover my more basic observations.
I did some quick typing tests against myself on a trusty IBM Model M and was surprised it held up quite well to speed typing. While my average was about 10 wpm slower (105 vs 115 on the M), my top speed was about the same on both (125) which tells me the regular keys are in sensible positions with appropriate spacing that was natural for my fingers. The slower average is likely due to fumbling with the unfamiliar key travel distance at that speed and would catch up quickly with practice.
Although the keys are 'quiet' they are not silent. That's a plus. They have a distinct clicky sound that gives you that keypress satisfaction you crave, make it sound like you're typing even faster than you really are, and still slightly annoy anybody sitting next to you.
Things I dislike, but is not the keyboards fault as it's what you expect from all super compact keyboards:
- No arrow keys.
- Delete, Tilda, Home, End, Page Up, Page Down, etc. are hidden behind a function key to save space.
This keyboard will drive me crazy if I have to do too much work on it without having arrow keys to navigate documents.
Overall this keyboard is a solid 5 stars as a travel gaming keyboard or a very space constrained desk keyboard which is what I intend to use it for. I would not use this keyboard as a daily driver if you need to do work, but I wouldn't use any super compact keyboard for that.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am in shock at how tiny this wireless keyboard is but yet how advanced it is. Zero contact keystrokes, 2 in 1 action keys, completely customizable. Come with a keyboard keycap puller. Wireless or wired, I am obsessed with the lights and how responsive the keys are.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was a really cool keyboard. The keys did not stick at all. They were easy to push down. It lit up in different colors. It was easy to set up with the Bluetooth. As soon as I turned the Bluetooth on the keyboard, it popped up on my Bluetooth.

Solid Mini Mechanical Keyboard
on August 20, 2022

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my first time using a mechanical keyboard since before membrane keyboards were the norm. I quite like the nostalgia of a mechanical keyboard and the satisfaction of the clicks. I am not ready to mod or build my own mechanical keyboard, so I like that this has adjustable switches. I like that this has two wireless options ((2.4GHz and Bluetooth) and wired connectivity. I didn’t think I needed wireless but I am enjoying being able to put it anywhere I want. The included USB-C to USB-A cable is one of the best quality I have ever received included with a product (it is exciting when a cable is included these days). It is 8 feet long and wrapped in nylon.
I like that the keyboard looks clean and minimalistic. There is branding but not too much. The black sleek design allows the different lights to be the main focus of the keyboard. The small size doesn’t take too much room on the desk and allows plenty of room for a mouse to be comfortably used next to it. It does take some getting used to not having certain buttons but you can customize the keyboard to your needs. The casing and keycaps feel well made and I am not scared that I have to be gentle on the keys.
You have to download the Steelseries GG software to make adjustments and configurations to the keyboard. What is annoying though is that GG is not just software for the keyboard settings but also includes a whole bunch of other functions that I don’t want or need. I wish there was an option to only download the Engine application. The software interface could be improved upon. I found that it's not entirely intuitive and difficult to use. There are also not as many preset illumination settings as I would have liked. As fun as it is to make your own combinations up, it does take a lot of time and there is a learning curve to the software that not everyone will want to spend time doing just to have different colors. I thought set-up was a bit of a pain because I had to do a software update on top of downloading the GG software, which involved plugging in the dongle and the keyboard. There is also not a lot of overall instruction or guidance on the site or included with the keyboard. I couldn’t even find information on how to factory reset the keyboard when I thought I had made a mistake in one of the settings.
The sound could be a bit more clicky but it is enough to be satisfying. It is still plenty loud enough for someone who is not used to using a mechanical keyboard. The response times do seem indeed fast. The keys are smooth and consistent. I like the texture of the keycaps and hope that they don’t get smoothed out with repeated use. A wrist support would have been nice to have been included but is not a deal breaker. Overall, it is an excellent keyboard but the downside of having difficult to use software.
