It was okay

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was excited to try them but was kind of disappointed. I curl my hair all the time it was so hard for me to curl the hair. I had to to try 3 times at least to figure out how to use it. I think if you are new to curling your hair this is not for you.At first all the buttons were so confusing as well.

interesting product, but not accessible.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The first thing I noticed when I opened the box, is that it’s a good size to travel with. It can be used like a curling or flat iron, which is a great dual purpose tool for people who heat style on the go (or even just to have less clutter at home honestly.) However, the button to open it is recessed and very firm. This product is not accessible to people who don’t have strong grip strength or if you have long nails. The nails thing, sure, that’s cosmetic. But to design a product that either purposefully or forgetfully leaves out disabled people is pretty upsetting. I struggled with it myself, and the clamp doesn’t even open very far, which made it difficult for me to get my hair far enough into it. I’ll add a photo of what I mean. If you can get past that problem, it functions alright. I used a heat protectant spray for my tests. The air flow does make your hair set faster, and I even immediately brushed a curl out to see how much it had set and it mostly went back together. My hair doesn’t actually hold heat styling for more than a few minutes even with setting products, so after less than an hour all of it was fully gone anyway but that’s a me issue and not related to the product. I was impressed however by the fact that it did spring back, when usually if I hold a curl until it cools and then brush it out, it falls out entirely. I didn’t have ANY success curling anything remotely near my scalp at all though, so don’t expect to be able to get any volume up top. It just flattens it. A bit annoyed by that. The idea here was cool but the execution could use some work. I would also implore Conair to think more about disabled customers when designing products.

SO WORTH IT

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] this product is so different in an amazing way! it really is a different way to get a perfect curl on your hair without using a wand or traditional curler. as someone who has difficulty using a wand this was the perfect product for me to perfect my curl!! absolutely loved it!!

Nice concept, lackluster results.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Nice packaging and sturdy device, but this product doesn’t work with my hair. I usually Use a styling wand with no clamp, and I have no issues curling my hair, but this produces no curl whatsoever. I watched the tutorials to no avail. The fan is finicky as well. This would work as a hair straightener, however, I already have long straight hair, so This device is not beneficial for me. I will give it a few more tries and update my review if I ever figure out how to get it working for me.

Have to Practice.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This hair curler is very nice and I love the idea of not damaging your hair with heat but still being able to get beautiful curls. I will say you really do need to practice to get the hang of it. I have long wavy hair and I was okay with using it. Some curls were perfect and other needed improvement. However I think that was entirely user error. So like I said I need to keep practicing to get better at it. My hair did not feel damaged at all which was amazing!

Great affordable Tyme alternative!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’d like to start by saying that I’m horrible at styling hair & I’ve never been able to curl my hair with a flat iron before; but this did work for me! It definitely took me a minute to get used to it, & I was far from a pro by the time I was done lol, but I did manage to curl all my hair in less than 10 minutes. Not bad for the very first try! (Pics included) The only cons I can think of are that the plates close very loosely, so I don’t feel it would work well to straighten hair; I thought it’d be a good 2 in 1 option, but I would never replace my Chi with this for straightening. Also, I snagged my hair many times & pulled out a few hairs, but it was likely user error since my hair is long & I was twisting it more than probably necessary when I was trying to figure this thing out. Like I said, I’m not good at doing hair. lol Though, I have a feeling that I’ll be able to prevent this occurrence once I become more accustom to using this styler. For the price difference from a Tyme, I would recommend trying it! :)

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a new concept in curling irons. I’ve seen another version and tried it but it was hard to use. This tool is easy to use and helps set the curl/wave. I am still practicing ways to get a tighter curl vs waves but I love it! I would definitely recommend!

Interesting but with a learning curve

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As someone who curled my hair with a straightener back when that was the thing to do, I thought this would be super easy for me to get the hang of, but it wasn’t and I really struggled on my first use (thank God for YouTube tutorials - also worth noting that I have pretty long hair which may be a factor). That being said, it heated up quickly and gave me nice curls when done correctly. I also think the cooling/fan feature is nice for setting the curl. Looking forward to continued use and practice with this, because I do think it’s promising.
