A groundbreaking doll

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My daughter absolutely loves this doll. We are very open about everything, the world and all the beautiful people in it. I make sure she understands that all of us were created equal and that we should think of each other that way. This is a great doll representing a great actress and advocate. I appreciate that Mattel has made great strides in the past few years. Barbie has always been ahead of her time and continues to be and I am grateful to have seen that through the years. I just wanted to say how pretty the doll is and how wonderful the details are. It doesn’t hurt that my daughter is thrilled with it as well. Kudos to the Mattel staff for all the wonderful things they design.

Laverne Cox is a beautiful doll, with one caveat

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The new Laverne Cox doll is absolutely stunning. She’s an icon, first and foremost. But second, Mattel did a wonderful job capturing the essence. I do with the face sculpt was a little better. It’s not the best representation of the actual person, but I think they did the best with what they had. The outfit here is gorgeous and the second sparkling fit beneath will have your jaw dropping. It’s a great look with either of the fits, but most collectors will enjoy keeping her in box to display as the packaging on this is amazing. If you’re a fan of Laverne Cox, this doll is a must have!

I was SO excited to see a transgender Barbie!! This is only the 2nd Barbie I own. She is gorgeous! Great details. So proud to own this ground breaking doll!

I loved it because it gave me the opportunity to celebrate diversity and acceptance. Any way that I can teach my daughter about fierce women is wonderful, and this doll did that and more!

Honoring an icon!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m so happy to see Mattel honoring such an icon and for kids to get to learn about her and her beautiful story. My first impression is that sadly it does not ressemble her much at all, being a big fan myself I could tell immediately that the features are not accurate, but a child probably would not know the difference. The clothes and the hair are beautifully done. The packaging is stunning to display! Makes you not want to take it out and just display it!
