I purchased this laptop because it was customizable. I was able to get exactly what I needed/wanted without having to get anything I didn't want/need. I chose this to replace my 12 year old Pavilion that was running but took forever to open anything, including itself. I definitely got my money's worth from my previous Pavilion and expect the same quality from this one.

This laptop seems fast, solid and dependable. My complaints pertain to the keyboard. The function keys and all other top row keys are half height, as is, of all things, the up & down arrow keys. The power key is next to the delete key. The markings on some of the keys are too small, such as to distinguish the comma from the period, as well as the function key markings. And all the function keys are reversed in the sense that, to use for example the F5 key as "F5", you must press fn+F5. F5 alone is used to mute the volume.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
