Almost perfect...

We purchased this stove to replace it's predecessor, which finally failed after 23 years....we have limited options for room. I love everything about it except the range elements with the "safety" ring in the center. It turns off the high burner when trying to cook pasta and then cycles back on...takes twice as long to cook my pasta...none of the burners were level, took some careful bending of the element where it plugs into the range...might look for replacement elements in the future without that option.

The range installation left a gap between the wall and the the appliance. The gap filler kit designed to fix this problem is no longer available. Unfortunately, when I purchased the stove this possibility was not pointed out to me.
I do not feel comfortable with the system of cleaning the drip pans, especially the warning about causing damage to the electrical connection. The information about self cleaning oven is not clear. User is warned to lock the door but there is no way to do that. I suspect that perhaps there is an automatic locking device but I have not yet attempted that.

The door will automatically lock when activating a self-clean cycle, in order to help with safety. Some of our models use a latch to lock to the door instead of an automatic lock.

Right Fit

The reason we bought the GE range was that it was the only drop in range that would fit the cut out in our counter top. We had a drop in GE range prior to this that was 35+ years old and we liked it. I feel that price was a little on the high side, but GE did have what was needed.

**If you are looking to purchase this range, please note: IT IS HARD WIRED. It is not a simple plug-in range. You will need an electrician to install it. ** That's not a problem, you just have to know that in advance.
I live in a home built in 1969 and this is the only oven/range that fits. This is the second GE drop in I have used. I love that it now has self-cleaning!
My only problem with this and most other ovens on the market is the oven vent coming out the front. I'm short, and that vent burns my stomach when I have to reach to the back burner.
If you and everyone else changed this, it would be perfect.
