As this is the only company that makes this stove it makes the price quite high compared to a normal stove.

GREAT REPLACEMENT

This replaced a very old GE 27" drop-in that had seen better days. I
haven't had it long but so far am pleased... Particularly that it has a self-cleaning oven, as well as coil burners that are plug-in. Also, the top of this one lifts up which will make cleaning so much easier. All in all, this looks like a winner.

this appliance does not last long

I have no choice but to buy this range unless I do my kitchen over this is my 3rd one 2nd one in 6 years I find they don't last very long. I bought this one about 3 months ago the light went out within 3 weeks and it takes a long time to heat up. Again I have no choice my kitchen calls for 27inch drop range

GE 27" Drop in

I own an older home that we re-modeled. There is room only for a 27" drop-in or slide-in stove and GE is the only company that makes one to fit. So we replaced the one that was there (which was also a GE that was used when we got it and we had it for 24 years). I find that the new one is not nearly as nice as the older model. The outside dimensions are 3" taller so I lost the drawer where the stove slid in. The inside of the oven is 2" narrower than the old one so now I cannot use my cookie sheets as they too big and I cannot put two 9" round cake pans beside each other in the oven where I could use my cookie sheets and put my cake pans beside each other in the old oven. I do like that the top is a little higher than the old one; however it is flimsy so when I stir things in the pots on the stove, the whole stove has some give to it. The only thing I like about this range is that it has digital settings on the front. I am sorry that there were no other choices for us and I am sorry that we had to replace the old one.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
