Unfortunate there is no competition!

If there were any alternatives short of an expensive kitchen remodel I would not have purchased yet another outrageously expensive and inadequate range for my kitchen. If I need another (a fourth!) I will remodel, and buy a top line range for about the same money. The range is adequate (I've been through 4 in 30 years), and the parenthesis should indicate how little I like this range. Each and every time I have had to replace it, the size, shape, dimensions, etc., have been changed just enough to require carpentry and refinishing of the cabinet underneath. It's a drop in for golly's sake.....try to keep the darn thing the same size from model year to model year...after all, our cabinet spaces don't change!
As for the self cleaning feature of this range, the construction of the range is so flimsy I've never found enough courage to use it for fear it would scorch the adjoining cabinetry.
Sorry, folks....I buy this range because I have to, not because I want to.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We just had to replace our old 27" range that came with our house, 35 years old. It's been a good little oven but unfortunately at this size there is much selection to choose from. It's been great but we would have preferred a flat top to coils.

My small drop-in stove

Because of the cabinetry and tile counter tops in my old home's kitchen, this was the one and only stove that would fit. It's expensive for its relative simplicity, yet it works very well.

Frustrated at the price for what you get. We had to buy at 27" drop in due to our kitchen configuration, and since GE continues to be the only manufacturer of 27" drop-ins, this is what we bought. Works fine, heats up relatively fast, but it has your basic functions. Bought it less than a year ago and the light bulb has already burnt out for no apparent reason.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
