Nice oven with good, basic features.

As with others who purchased this unit, we were limited in our options for the kitchen, due to the fact that the opening was only 27" wide. We did not want to extensively modify the oven area. It is self-cleaning, which the old unit did not have. The oven seems to be of fairly good quality- not as good as the old 1970's one though. No surprise there- planned obsolescence, eh?

Needed another 27 inch drop-in range as replacement for my 30 year old one. Unfortunately I could not get the bisque color so I purchased the black.

When shopping for a new electric range, we discovered that this 27-inch model is the only one that will fit into our current kitchen layout. I was a little disappointed to replace our old range with basically the same exact model. I wish GE would update the look or possibly offer an alternative 27-inch drop in unit. I felt this unit was a little pricey. However if you're like us and this is your only option, at least it is a quality product that works well.

I bought this range to replace the old 27" drop-in GE one that was there. Even though I purchased the same one, the installer had to cut out one of the "side" supports. I thought that might need to be done. However, what I never thought would happen was the range being 2" taller, so he also had to cut out the drawer underneath the opening. I paid 3x what a stand alone stove would cost, so it would fit in the existing opening. What a waste of money! When I replace the other range (it's a duplex), I will not be purchasing another one of these!

My 3rd GE Drop-In Range

This is the 3rd GE Range I have purchased since 1974 and am so disappointed! I did not realize the heating element in the oven was crooked, nearly 1/2 in.uneven until my pot holder actually caught fire when removing a casserole the first time used. The top elements are not as well fitting and the entire top surface has to be navigated to refit after cleaning underneath. I'm almost afraid to use the self-cleaning cycle. I have always bought GE appliances and need a new washer and dryer but am not sure if I trust another product.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

GE is the only company that makes this range, so if you need a 27 inch drop in electric range you do not haveany options
