This stove's oven door had about a 1/4" gap and would not close the way it should. It also had a chip on the enamel on the inside of the oven door.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi there,
We're sorry to hear about your oven door not closing fully as well as the enamel coating chipping on the interior of the door. If you would like, you could attempt to remove the oven door and reseat it on its hinges. This could help with the closing issue. Though this following article deals with cleaning between the glass on an oven door, it offers a nice video that shows you how to remove the door. Take a look at the article, here: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=34524
As for the enamel coating chipping, this may be something that a technician would need to take a look at. We would recommend taking advantage of your warranty and scheduling a service appointment or calling and talking to one of our technicians to let them know about this chipping. Should you need to read about the details of your warranty you can do so on pg. 22 of your Owner's Manual, here: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-80696-4.PDF
Also, you can get in touch with our service department through this link: https://www.geappliances.com/ge/service-and-support/service.htm
We hope that this helps!
Thank you very much for your review.
Best wishes, Michael

I finally found one since they aren't manufactured any longer. I was unable to use a 30" range due to my cabinet configuration. It replaced my old 27 inch avocado colored one from the 70's. It fit in the space perfectly . I love the updated features however the oven is smaller that my old one. I had to purchase smaller cookie and roasting pans. Overall, very good.
I would recommend this to a friend!

My GE 27 Inch Drop-In Electric Range
on January 25, 2023

After 26 years of service, my GE 27" Drop-In Electric Range, showed a fatal error. Repair people could fix this ranges, since parts were no longer available. I had to special order, the newer model JM250DTWW, from my local appliance store. I was surprised that this of "Drop-In Range," is no longer as popular as it once was. It took seven months to arrive. The appliance store, tried to get me, to remodel my kitchen, to make room for the more popular thirty inch, GE Electric Range. Since I am on fix income, and retired, a remodeled kitchen was out of the question. I was so happy, when the "GE 27" Drop-In Range," finally arrived, it took less than an hour to install, by the appliance store, professional installers. Thanks GE, for still making the 27" Inch Drop-In Range!

I love how it looks and it works perfectly! I’m very satisfied with this range. My house is older and it was almost impossible to find a range that would fit the dimensions of the broken range I previously had. This one did the trick!

This oven works fine. The price is way to expensive though. The thing I really like about this drop in is that you and lift the top and clean underneath. Just make sure you check the oven out good because when I opened the top it looks like they have not finished painting it.

Everything was good with this product except that there was no indication that the three prong or four prong plug would not be provided. It required a separate call to a certified electrician to install the electric range rather than just a plug and use the electric range. Range was extremely expensive for its size compared to standard size electric ranges.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
