awkward to clean.

I don't like the fact that the oven is smaller than the old design. Also don't like the fact that in order to clean the drip pans you have to remove the heating elements. Before you could just lift them and take the pans out. Also don't like the fact that you have no choice put to get a self cleaning oven. But I do like the fact that you can raise the top to clean under the top and the stove cooks faster than my old one. Seems to me the old one was made out of better quality material.

Unique replacment

I bought this to replace an old GE "Spacemaker" stove that was also 27" wide. It's the only 27" stove out there so I had no choice other than to modify the cabinets/countertop. Its a decent stove but very expensive for the basic features and looks , you are paying for the unique size. It was easier to install than cutting cabiets and countertops but it did NOT fit in the exact same opening as the old stove. It was close but did require a little cabinet trimming and was a tight fi into the existing opening. Also - it has a very small oven, smaller than the old 27" GE range it replaced. Works fine, as expected for a new electric range.

Great stove

This is our third stove over 40 years (27" drop in so models are limited - only GE make that size). All three have performed extremely well. The only problem has been that replacement parts were not available, so we had to buy a new one as the older models wore out. Also, this new one did not come with a broiler pan. Fortunately, we saved the one from the old stove.

This is a "drop-in" appliance, and only GE makes them any more. Thank God! It's a good unit, too. The controls are precise, the oven is easy to use, and operation is so straightforward that I haven't looked at the manual even though I usually read the manual through. I wish GE would consider making a more modern flat-top drop-in, but I affirm that this unit is top quality.

Feature poor

Honestly I feel trapped. This is the only 27" drop in on the market so GE feels comfortable putting as few real features as possible and changing triple the price of any of their more robust stand alone models. My only other choice would be to renovate the whole kitchen.
I gave 3 stars only because it is still available....

Hard to get parts

I had to replace this stove with one identical to it . It was only 15 years old. However the stove was not used a great deal. The problem was the clock timer unit went bad and the part for it could not be found by any parts house .The only recourse was to buy another 27 in drop in stove like I had or cut my counters and get a standard size one.

this was hard to locate because it's a replacement for the old one and I didn't want to change my cabinet. Thank God they were still available because a 27 inch drop in is not common!!!!
