No need to remodel!

The best thing about this stove is I was able to replace my 1970's gold GE drop in without having to remodel my kitchen just because I needed to replace my stove. While the cost was higher than other stoves, I saved thousands in remodeling costs! It works great and it's wonderful to have a fully functioning range again without the stress of having to make something new fit. In general, my old GE drop in was actually a better quality stove but definitely outdated in appearance and could no longer be easily repaired. The electronics on the new stove are nice but I haven't had it long enough yet to use many of the functions. Some things I don't really care for with the new one but are not major issues: You cannot get it in stainless so I purchased black, better than gold but I would have preferred stainless to match the dishwasher I had to replace a couple of years ago. I had to buy a separate backsplash - it does not come as part of the range - just to cover the space between the wall and the back of the stove. Even though the range is the same size and there was no significant counter/cabinet adjustment needed, the oven is a little narrower than on my old drop in and it takes a longer time to pre-heat than my old oven. The one other thing that is a little annoying is you have to completely remove the burners to take out the drip pans for cleaning, rather than just lifting them.
All in all I am VERY happy!!

Great Replacement

Had a very old GE drop in that had fallen apart. This is a wonderful gift to myself. Perfect cooking. Love the ease of setting the oven.

When we moved into our home, the previous owners had taken the oven with them. We had to find something quick, affordable, but something that would work well... be effective. I could not be happier with our purchase! I have a newfound love for cooking. This range provides reliability and preciseness in cooking and baking that I never had the luxury of knowing before. I so appreciate this product and will always seek out GE for our appliance needs!

I just had this installed. I previously owned the same range and had it for 25 years. I only replaced two top elements during that time. Great product and great looking.

My small drop-in stove

Because of the cabinetry and tile counter tops in my old home's kitchen, this was the one and only stove that would fit. It's expensive for its relative simplicity, yet it works very well.
