Sparks!

Like others, ours is sparking in the same back left bottom. This is clearly a defect and known issue. I’m so disappointed in Cafe. How can this be fixed? (Copy of previous review) I am having exact same issues.

I love this microwave - I think a good change would be to put the controls on top of the door so you can see them without bending over.

Control panel lacks illumination

Overall I like this microwave but the lack of lighting on the control panel is a major design flaw . It is very difficult to see the control you need . Especially if the kitchen lights are low. Very frustrating .

Sparking and burning components

After just 1.5 years - just outside the warranty period, of course - we're having the same issue with sparks and burning components that other customers have reported. All of the issues appear to be happening at the same point in the microwave, in the back corners where the drawer rollers rest against the interior when the door is closed. This is clearly a design or manufacturing defect. And now we have to pay out of pocket to repair or replace an expensive, relatively new microwave.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Why no control lights other than cook time/clock?

Why are the controls not lit? Where the clock is, etc. is easy to see, but you can't see the "feature" buttons.

Could have done better

The microwave feature works fine and the below counter installation helped in our smaller kitchen But because it is below the counter and the control panel does not light up, it is very difficult to read the controls. This is a serious design flaw.

DO NOT BUY... Tons of issues

As I am now seeing in many other reviews, we have experienced two common issues including the panel failure (repaired twice now) and the sparking/arcing due to faulty wheels in both corners. We splurged on a whole suite of Cafe appliances from this collection for our kitchen renovation and I'm really disappointed. I have now spent a ridiculous amount of time and money trying to keep this microwave functional.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Needed repairs within two months

While I like the looks of the microwave, within less than two months after receiving it, the unit died while in operation and would not come back on. We had to have a repairman come out and fix a bad switch (I think that's what he said the problem was). It's a bit troubling to have this unit go down so quickly, especially after paying so much for it.
