[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This laptop is light and thin even with a dedicated graphics card. Keyboard is easy to typewrite. I don't like side vent in the right-hand side that it will blow hot air to my hand when I'm in hot weather.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This works exactly as advertised. Very fast and plenty powerful for anything the vast majority of office workers will need to do. My one complaint is there are not enough USB ports - only two on the laptop itself. While most will use a hub or dock that offers as many as you could want it would be nice to have enough to use an external camera, external mic, and wireless mouse all at once on the laptop itself.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The laptop body is very rectangular. The outside edges are, for the most part, well filleted (rounded over) and provide a nice feel. The paint / coating is an oil magnet... so please wash your hands if you intend to keep your computer 'pretty'.
On the underside, there is the usual drainage hole, a tiny, reset button like you would expect on some more rudimentary electronic gadgets (a new thing to me), and captive screws holding it all together. I do wish they labelled the drainage hole, reset button, etc. as they did on my T450S. The rubber feet feel stout, though they could be larger and farther inset towards the center of the chassis... the placement is rather unforgiving if you like to use your device near the edge of a table or desk. There are plenty of vents on the underside, and although it Looks like they were designed for dual fans, you only get 1. For a laptop with a dedicated GPU, I would have liked to have seen a dual-fan cooling unit.
Around the edge, the ports are decently placed (finally a left-side headphone jack), though I wish dearly that the microSD slot was instead a full-size SD card slot. That would have reduced my dongle count down to Zero. Alas, there is a full size RJ45 (ethernet) jack near the back right, which is a pretty good spot for it.
Opening the laptop, I immediately noticed a strange design choice. For one, the nice gradual slope at the front of the keyboard is gone, replaced with a razor sharp (figuratively), very-unfriendly-to-wrists Edge. This one is Sharp with a capital S. Probably my most hated design choice of a prior Dell laptop I had. (A very expensive Precision 5540). This "slope" was one of my favorite features from past models. It made me want to use the computer to type rather than an external keyboard. I can look past it, but it feels like a mistake. Luckily, we are still treated to the full replaceable keyboard unit with good backlighting. The key depth is good, though probably at the minimum of what I find acceptable. The TrackPoint, always a must, is still great. I have not experienced any drift issues yet. The fingerprint reader is fast and reliable. I like it better than the "Swipe" style one on my T450S.
The speakers are now on the back edge of the keyboard deck rather than the bottom of the unit. While this is an upgrade, they still sound a little tinny. With the laptop closed, they still sound OK. I think there is enough real-estate back there for larger speakers, though.
The display gets bright enough and more importantly, dark enough for my use. It is extremely similar in color profile and quality to my T450S FHD panel (1080p). "Graphics nerds" or people looking to do artwork should at minimum get the 4K display on thinkpads. These are mostly intended as business machines, so the stock screens are usually lacking in the color accuracy department. (as they are on this model). The thinner bezels are welcome.
The trackpad is enlarged, which is good, but it kills me that it is plastic. Lenovo, Please offer a glass trackpad option. That was one of my favorite highlights of the T450S, and it is sadly missing in the vast majority of thinkpad models. Even my $3000 P53 doesn't have one. A real shame.
Overall, the unit performs well. It handles my workstation dock (Thunderbolt 3 instead of the newer 4) to connect to 4 displays well. I do some artwork with a Wacom display - I haven't noticed any glitches, stuttering, or anything that would impair the ability to draw smoothly.
Overall, I give this a 4/5 rating. The sharp front edge is unforgiving, but that's about the biggest grievance I have with this model.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I replaced a 2017 thinkpad so I am familiar with them. This one is much lighter, and the face recognition actually works, which it didn't on the 2017 model. Beautiful graphics too
This laptop is labeled as a workstation but it cannot run more than one application at a time. Especially if you have a browser open in the background. Also, lenovo has too many similarly specified laptops so its difficult to find a good one or know how they compare.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It took a sec to get used to the keyboard being offset by the number keys. Feels good to type on but I don’t like the red dot in the middle. Plays basic games like Portal and Sims very well.
