I got the HP Victus desktop TG002-1000i series in good conditions, everything work just fine out of the box. One thing that I am satisfied with this purchase is the price I paid for it, the configurations are cheaper than if I had built a PC myself. That being said, there are some tradeoffs...
After receiving this PC. I managed to get a clean re-install of the OS (booted from a new SSD) However, I am still seeing some preinstalled HP software/services in the system files and have no admin privillege to uninstall/delete the files. These software/services are mostly 'Harware Support Applications', HSAs as they called it, ex. HP system Info HSA, HP Diagnostics HSA, pretty much anything that starts with HP. These are not necessary AFAIK, I have since disabled but not being able to remove them doesn't make me have full control over a PC that I paid for, just like the HP printer I own where it locks your printers because you cancelled your subscription.
So 4/5 for not being able to fully have control over the PC I bought.
Great PC with some cooling issues that are easily fixed.

Can run very hot and the auto setting for the fan speed is not great. If you run it on auto fan speed a good thing to do would be to take the side panel off and that cooled mine down pretty instantly. (Almost 20 degrees fahrenheit in some cases) What ended up working best for me is running the fan at max speed when playing games and auto for everything else. Do plan on getting a new 80mm exhaust and intake fans. This desktop only has one exhaust fan at the back and cant keep the CPU cool enough when running very CPU intensive task when the fan speed is set to auto. Great desktop though, especially for the price. If you do experience the overheating these Victus desktops are known for then just remove the side panel and if that doesn’t work and you are willing to listen to the fan then change the fan speed setting to max with the side panel on. By all means though love this PC.
CPU runs really hot and spent almost an hour discussing with tech support and transferred three times. Very frustrating with no one able to actually help. Overall the PC works well but gets very hot with any hi res games (Fortnite, Unturned, CSGO) and fan turns on and is very loud. Case even gets hot. On a flat surface and well cooled environment. Everything else is fine but this is a GAMING machine and CPU hovering at close to 90 degrees Celsius. Threshold is 97 degrees Celsius but still seems exceptionally hot for a gaming rig. May purchase an additional fan but HP support completely inept.
The unit arrive with one defect/damage. The front cover was ajar.. . the right side when facing the unit. It will not completely close and/or stay closed when pushed in. Accordingly, the on/off power button is recessed about an eighth of an inch from the cover.. making it less convenient to turn it on and off. Also, it seems to me the unit is consistently on the warmish side despite it not being called upon for any heavy processing.
HP15L has no expansion slot as stated, it has 1 M.2 (PCIe 16X) being used by pre-installed SSD. I want it to increase the memory capacity, and I was told the Victus 15L is pre-packaged and cannot be customized. I was counting on an expansion slot that now I learned is not availble.
Fantastic performance! Surprisingly small and streamlined and fits perfectly in a small nook or on a small shelf. Plenty of inputs all around and the integrated front-mounted USB is a very nice touch. The case design is elegant and the lighted V and chrome lettering on the sides of the case are a definite head turner. Again, the performance is fantastic and so far its been able to easily handle any game or program I've loaded onto it. Lastly, as the cherry on top, it appears to be easily upgradable and the internal components are easy to access.
The wifi adaptor must be broken. The internet connection is very unstable that I experience 500ms latency when playing online games. The download speed tested on fast.com is 4 times slower than other computers under the same network
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
