It's not overly soft but firm enough to sleep on. My previous mattress (Serta) was kept way too long (17 years). What I like about Tuft & Needle is the price. I wouldn't hold on to a mattress that long if I knew I could buy another quality mattress for a great price. My husband and I are sleeping better, we don't wake up in as much pain and overall this is a comfortable mattress.

I am a side sleeper and the mattress is a touch too firm for me. I am going to give it a couple weeks before I make a decision about returning or not.
