I was hoping for an upgrade from my Aroma cordless electric kettle. After looking at lots of review, I decided on the Cuisinart electric kettle. It was MUCH heavier than my Aroma kettle and the push button to make the top flip up is VERY hard to push. Also, I was surprised how long it took the water to boil, especially since Cuisinart had advertised that it was a "quick boiling kettle." Curious about this, I decided to boil the same amount of water (1.7 liters) in the new Cuisinart and in my Aroma. I flipped them on at the exact same time and the Aroma boiled in 3 minutes sharp. It took the Cuisinart a full 2 minutes longer!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great Product! Boils water quickly, has a great capacity (1.7l) lots of coffee soups or enough water to kick start your pasta. The sides do get hot, so be careful, but other than that this is a great piece of kitchen equipment.

Works as described. Heats up water quickly; used it for hot water needs when baking. Nice design. Hard to see the water level when filling due to the light colored background but not a big deal; I just stop and check while filling it.

The kettle is perfect for boiling up water for a cup of tea. It’s quite fast in coming to the boil. It gets hotter to the touch than I thought it would, but as long as you know that, it’s not a problem.

Works great, although our first one broke down in a year. Replaced free under warranty, with good customer service, but why it broke with no moving parts is a mystery.
