Durability issues with a great action toy!

This was the highlight of Christmas. My son loves the action of this toy and has spent many hours actively playing with it. Yesterday he complained that the batteries were dead, and I noticed limited rumbling coming from the toy. I replaced the batteries, and everything seemed normal, except there is no "roar" coming from the speakers.
