Poor Quality

I just received the pergola few days ago, and upon opening the package I was pretty disappointed with the poor wood finish of most of the pieces. Maybe I expected too much for the so called "pre-stained" lumber, but the wood surface is rough and looks completely untreated, and the colors of some connecting pieces are noticeably lighter/darker than the others. I thought I could just cope with it by sanding and re-staining the whole thing, but then it comes the beam assembly.... the cut of the most connecting pieces are unique that they don't align properly when put together... I tried so hard to mix and match the 20+ pieces to get a better assembly but still ended up with many of beam assemblies in a bad shape. If it is only few pieces, I would think they are just defective parts, but then having so many of them makes me worried if it is a quality issue. Really regret my purchase
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Excellent Product

Bought this at a great price in comparison to others on the market. I was very impressed with the packaging and extremely pleased with the straightforward instructions. The best surprise was that each piece of wood was numbered, which really helped with assembly. Took 3 guys about 6hrs - that included levelling and positioning. We did have an issue with one screw defect but it didn’t halt the project for long. The end product is beautiful - exactly as described and frankly looks just like the photo on the net. Good quality, good price and well thought out. I highly recommend this pergola!

I like it BUT

I got it assembled last year October 2021. I was easy to assemble. Not even a year later, all my four posts are cracking. This is very disappointing. I wish I could give it a five star but I can't due to the defective posts. I wish this could be fixed.

We are so sorry to hear this about your posts. As with all wood, some checking and small cracks in grain is normal, and this will not affect the structural integrity of the unit. Sometimes, if the hardware is over tightened, this can also lead to cracking in the wood. We do recommend to apply a water sealant on an annual basis to help protect and maintain the wood. This is the most beautiful item in my back yard. I purchased the pergola after being trapped in the house for over a year and many hours spent on Pinterest. I couldn't wait for it to arrive as I had it delivered to the house. On delivery day, I was so excited. It arrived in three boxes and I slowly unloaded and took piece by piece into the back yard to build. I couldn't find anyone to build it as all contractors in TX have been busy since the winter storm, so I decided to build it myself (49 year old self proclaimed handy woman). As long as you follow the directions, it's a breeze. It took two weeks, but I decided to take my time with this one. I also painted and stained it a nice chocolate color. My husband helped me stand up the assemblies, but other than that, it really can be a one person job.
I hung curtains from it am waiting on the sun sail to be delivered. It looks absolutely amazing and is the perfect addition to the garden.
It is sturdy, easy to assemble and looks way more than it cost.
I would highly recommend this to anyone looking to make their back yard more like a sanctuary like I did.

I wish I had done this six years ago

My backyard is transformed! I now have a new room to sit in and watch my pool from. I put a sunshade on the top of my pergola and now I can tolerate the nuclear Texas sun and enjoy my backyard.
I would recommend this to a friend!

just love our Pergola, two days putting all the parts together, only four hours the next day to install it on our patio by 4 old guys, not as hard as i thought it would be. LOVE IT

awesome structure

I highly recommend any of the Yardistry products ... I bought the 10 X12 meridian pergola a couple of years ago and installed fiberglass panelling over top to cover my hot tub to enjoy it during the rainy season and during the snow season .... never looked back... a breeze to put together and stands up to the extremes of weather we get here on the west coast .... since then I have also purchased the 6X8 green house ..... awesome . and the care and instructions that went into the design and manufacturing of it were beyond compare ... a bit of a jigsaw puzzle but easy if you follow the detailed instructions... all parts needed were included .... Just call me a happy satisfied customer and I know where I will go for any other structure that I require

Great Pergola! quality & visually pleasing

We just assembled & installed this product over the last 2 days, very impressed with the wood, the hardware, great instructions for assembly, and ease of assembly. My husband and I installed it ourselves over 2 days. It’s extremely solid & actually better than we had anticipated; it it a welcome addition to our patio.
I would recommend this to a friend!
