I've only had this for one year, ran for 4 months in the summer last year. Now, the only button that works if the power button.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Danby dehumidifiers great longevity

It works very well controlling my basement humidity, connected for continous drain.
Note! My first danby dehumidifier lost it's refrigerant within 3 months and was replaced under waranty--the replacement lasted for 5 years--had E3 error code, I had bought another one that is still running and this one is to replace the warranty replacement one. Before switching to Danby for the 2 year warranty I was going through one dehumidifier every year. I keep the new one in our basement and the older one is in our garage to reduce rusting of our vehicle disc brakes. I am very pleased with Danby dehumidifiers longevity.

Unit is being used in a bathroom that lacks an exhaust fan and seems to be working well. Time will tell how long the unit lasts.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I have an older Danby Dehumidifier in my basement at home and this model in a back hallway at work and they have always performed flawlessly.
Keep the dust filter clean to avoid excessive heat (like with any electronic device or appliance) and it will do it's job.
