The computer is fine--working as expected with no setup problems, etc. My problem is Windows 11 which is the worst Microsoft operating system I have encountered and I started with DOS. I wonder if HP had the opportunity to test out this OS on this machine before they offered it for sale. Was there an option to use Win 10 instead. As a PhD level engineer, i am not tech averse, but i have never had so much trouble with an install on any device (Apple or otherwise). Fortunately i still have 2 devices on Windows 10 until i am sure i have debugged all of Windows 11 and I still have confidence in HP products.
I was disappointed to see that HP removed the HD activity light and the CD drive activity light. Also it is very difficult to snap a CD into the vertical CD drive, and even more difficult to remove it. I feel I run the risk of cracking a CD.
