Very nice build

This was a very fun build to create. The end result was a beautiful piece of art that I could display nearly anywhere and it fit well. A few critics though would be to have highlighted borders around the pieces that are added in each step of the instructions. Trying to find where each piece was added to the build because a game of wheres Waldo at times especially when working with the base. Secondly, I feel like for the price of this set, a quieter motor could have been created and included in the set. When it's on its like listening to a powered pepper grinder. It's obnoxious to leave on and listen to for long periods.

The Best Build EVER

This was the absolute most fun and amazing lego build I’ve done to date. This set felt far from repetitive which made the building part of it super interesting. Not one step did I dislike…the instructions were very clear and precise. If you are thinking about buying this lego set, hit the purchase button NOW. It is a staple piece in our collection and looks amazing even just as a table topper. The motorized light is a plus as well! I’ve seen plenty of light kits that go great with this set on many websites as well. Such a fun and beautiful build. Wish I could’ve done it over again!

Hadn't built a LEGO set since a few Hobbit sets around 10 years ago. Huge kudos to the designers for the appealing natural warm color palette with the creamy white lighthouse - as well a superb use of small gray pieces and irregular shapes to evoke rocky cliffs.
The build - for someone not that experienced - was interesting; took me about 2 weeks building one step at a time during evening TV. I wasn't in any hurry and never got bored. The cottage is so warm and adorable I wanted to move in. It's a "perfect set" IMO; if you could only ever build one LEGO set this would be a candidate, especially for the ocean lover. My one nit would be to encourage LEGO to move to USB lighting/motors, although this could burn motors and lights out faster?
I also liked the thoughtfulness that there is a "path" up the lighthouse with the ladders on each level. (It may be silly to need a way to get through a building with a "toy", but that bothers me lol when there is no obvious way to move from room to room). There's even the little gate at the "crow's nest" for the lighthouse keeper to tend to the light.
Overall I have the impression the designers spent quite a lot of time looking at real life rocky shores and lighthouses as well as color palettes, and this is an aesthetic winner (including the seagull nest and droppings lol).
Of course I had to make use of more LEGO parts to add some "seagrass"; decided there was a whole cat family living at the lighthouse, a few crabs (one guarding the delightful hidden cave which I am sneaking a Jack Sparrow map into; and the hanging bat is hilarious). Plus the lighthouse Captain's friend is bringing groceries as well as a new puppy to play with the keeper's Scotty dog. And a few life preservers instead of the barrel of fish, and so on. (I need to find a turkey for the holiday display lol).
If LEGO's saying is "never stop playing", well, this set brought a lot of joy to this ocean lover, and for a relative adult newbie was "just right" as far as build complexity. Delightful, tho I had to backtrack a few times lol. (I hope LEGO comes out with a matching expanded sea cottage one day; with a porch, rocking chairs, sand castles etc.)
But it is also a suitable display piece for an adult, thanks to the care in design. It's charming, detailed, clever use of pieces, and I am a bit sad I finished the build. Since I hadn't done much with Lego in over 10 years and nothing of this scale, I am just so impressed with the design and aesthetic (as well as the instructions). For me this was an excellent choice and I've had enormous fun - maybe one day I can build that matching sea cottage with the porch that I imagine!

so much fun to build. Lens rotates and in the dark throws light all around the room. When you build it please remember where the lever is to turn the lights on because the instructions don't tell you at the end. It is now the center piece of my collection. Highly recommended.

Good product

I was not expecting to see the orange light inside the house itself since it had been a while since I looked at the ad for this product. Overall well built and designed, there are a couple bits that could have been stronger but still good. It's not super bright but it's bright enough to look good.

Great set

I’m from Michigan and have visited many lighthouses so this was a must-but for me. Really enjoyed building the set and discovering the mechanisms that make it work. I think it’s a unique set and I’m excited to display it too.

Lots of fun

Went together like clockwork. I had to halt construction waiting for a part. Also, the first instruction manual skipped approx. 15 pages. I downloaded them so it was fine. Everything works, and I really like how the light rotates slowly, like a real lighthouse. Well done. Thanks.

Overall, a decent build
on December 3, 2022

Overall, a decent build, but not quite worth the value for money. Gifted this to my brother and built it with him over this past Thanksgiving weekend. There were a few small but notable issues, the first being that the pieces in bags 9 and 6 were intermingled, and required us opening all the bags with these labelled numbers in order to proceed with the build properly. Additionally, we didn't receive any Lego stickers needed for the small house's decor (as fas as I remember, we needed at least two, with one being the image for a portrait hung upon the wall). My brother was also a bit disappointed as he was expecting that the lighthouse itself would be able to be opened up for one or two interesting mini set pieces within, but that wasn't the case, as the tower just hid the motor's wiring; this last one is on me, as I should've gone over the build design thoroughly prior to purchase. All in all, it was a relatively nifty build.

It's never fun to have something missing from your set. Try double-checking that the sticker sheet hasn't gotten caught in the box flaps or slipped in between building instructions pages. If they aren't hiding there, get in touch at LEGO.build/Service-BV and we'll get them requested for you!
