I loved building this lighthouse! It's gorgeous and all my friends compliment me on it especially when it's turned on! The one downside is how loud it is when turned on. I wish it were quieter.

This build fires the imagination. From the rocky base, to the cozy cabin, to the 3 floors of tower topped with a working lamp, I really enjoyed building this--surprisingly little repetition anywhere. I guess if there were one complaint, this build went too fast. Taking my time and for the price, I thought it should take a week or two. Instead, I was done in 2 days, not trying to rush it--but oh what fun. The little extras like the seagull, the fish in a barrel, the row boat, and ivy on the outsides--all very nice touches. The cabin interior, the bed, the fireplace, and the lighthouse paintings--all the extra details are what makes it more special.
This build has inspired me to design-build a finer scaled, more detailed Lego lighthouse with an interior spiral stair case instead of ladders. Sorry, but it left me wanting more!!!

This is one of these sets that checks all the boxes. I had a great time building it, with all the details in scenery, cottage and the tower itself. It's also a great display item and looks beautiful on the shelf.
