design very clever. build was thoughtful for instruction followers; pivoting from rocks, tower, and house to break up monotony. i was skeptical of the mechanical design of the light, but the rods and gears lined up well for smooth rotation. easter eggs galore. the scene feels apt for a variety of climates and eras. the pirate accessory promo pack provided also expanded play well. fun set, highly recommend

I got this set for my mother who loves lighthouses but had just watched me build Lego as I was growing up. She loved it and has had friends come over to see it and shows off all the detail of the keeper’s room, etc.
I would recommend this to a friend!

As a somewhat newer Adult Fan of Lego, it's nice to see what building techniques etc. are being used in Lego sets. I haven't gotten around to the Techinc building system, but in sets like this and a few others, I'm always very impressed with how a little bit of it can be incorporated into the regular Lego brick building experience. Also, except for what I've heard of the somewhat controversial Hulk Buster, this was also the very first set to include the new Fresnel lens piece.
Overall, it's a really nice display piece (not much of a playable set, but not everyone needs to be).
Although, the previously mentioned new piece and more expensive Powered Up components might keep some away from this fun build.
