Great set

This is a great set - I love the IDEA program. My father loved lighthouses so I bought it in his honor. It was fun to build and came out great. Just need to make room for it in my collection

not the best design

The rod from the motor to the light kept disconnecting during the build and you have to do partial rebuilds to reconnect it to the turning gear
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Nearly the Perfect Set

This set is one of the most enjoyable builds. There is a unique baseplate and interesting piece use to create a rocky outcrop. The lighthouse itself has a nice variety of build techniques. At the same time, it’s very playable and my kids love it. I must admit the power function is superfluous and I’ve only turned it on myself twice.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Addicting Build - Use the correct batteries

This was probably the most enjoyable set I’ve ever built. The Home Alone house was fun for iconic scenes they tied into the build, but this was much more enjoyable from a pure architectural perspective and how creative they got with making it all work.
My one recommendation that set me back because of having to get in touch to troubleshoot were the brand of batteries I used. The instructions don’t recommend a brand but use Energizer. The tips are just slightly different and make for a better connection.

Lighthouse fun

Although I was saving for two other LEGO sets, when the Lighthouse came out, I knew that it would fit in my life. I am in coastal resource management and have lived near lighthouses most of my life. The treasure cave--complete with a habitat appropriate bat--and the lightkeeper's quarters give lots of room for play and self-expression. I am only about halfway through the build. Having completed dozens and dozens of builds, it is amazing how LEGO improves the instructions where I did not realize they could be improved. Such a professional presentation too. Very appreciated.

Motorized lighthouse

I love anything lighthouses and this did not disappoint. The light is very clever and the lighthouse keeper’s cottage has a lot of detail for the size of it. Just a few stickers (I hate stickers!)

Fantastic Set - lots of fun to build

I purchased this set because I'm a lighthouse enthusiast and have worked on preservation of many lights so I more or less HAD to get this one. I was a little surprised at how much fun I had building it since I haven't built a lot of Lego sets in the past. The details are great - the designers did an excellent job and I smile every time I look at it ... and now I'll be looking for similar sets to build. (Not sure if that is good or bad) : )
