Not as bright as led to believe it would be.

As with others...My motorized light element wouldn't rotate either. Design flaw in that there isn't enough support at top gear connection area to keep shaft anchored in place. There isn't enough force to hold the little conical wheel (32270) against the Turntable base (39892). A solution was that I had to make a spacer in step 447 between grey beam with cross axle (22961) and brown technic brick (6541). Sometimes just pulling technic brick apart from connector peg (61332) was enough to get the friction between gears to operate.
I was disappointed in the brightness of the light produced. Was led to believe that the new element (6400144) "Customized to concentrate light like a real Fresnel lens". An actual 5050 LED would have been amazing. I was hoping that this set would be used as a night light.
This set is sharp and nice detail. Too pricey in my opinion. A basic battery box, medium motor, and a light. Price hike for equipment some of us already have. I miss power function. Now forced to reinvest in new power products with their proprietary connectors and no intention to release adaptors.

It's never fun when things don't work as they should. From what you’ve described, a little rebuilding might be in order. You’ll want to make sure that each part is in the exact position shown in the instructions and that everything’s pressed together tightly (except the gears, which need some extra room to turn). Decals missing from package

We did not get the decals in our package and I am very frustrated trying to find where we can get some. I thought Lego was good about this and I wouldn't mind buying them, but I can't find them. Grrrrr!

A few issues

It was missing 2 pieces which i had to find in my own stash. It also wasn’t easy to follow directions, not always clear where the pieces go in the pictures (no highlighted pieces like I’ve seen before). And it doesn’t seem too sturdy based on the way it’s designed with the outside walls not connecting to each other. Overall not a great experience

Battery power supply not working

I put 6 double AA battery’s in it and double checked it over and over and the light is not working so I don’t know if it is broken or not

THE INSTRUCTION BOOKLET NEEDS WORK IF YOU WANT TO SEE WHERE NEW PIECES FIT.
THE LIGHTHOUSE ITSELF NEEDS GLUE. 2 OR 3 PCS JOINED IN ONLY ONE PLACE HAVE TO BE PUSHED TO FIT.
ANY PRESSURE AND THEY FALL APART. PUSH GENTLY AND THEY DON'T CLICK IN.
THERE'S MORE BUT THAT IS THE ESSENCE OF MY COMPLAINT. THE CREATOR HERSELF ADMITTED TO THESE PROBLEMS.

I had zero issues with fit and trim. A little scary as there are no real trial or test points until final beginning in assembly at about instruction page 480.
But the final fit, gears and all moving parts fit without any frustration and the rotation and light were perfect. I limit myself to one numbered section of the manual per day. This increases final results, reduces stress, and nearly if not completely eliminates back steps.
