Directions aren’t clear for many steps on this set. Access to an online video for this set would be extremely helpful!

“Whiplash”

I really enjoyed this set. Very straight forward with assembly. I like how all the players were broken down into bags. It was bigger then expected when I finished. You can hear or imagine what the music would be like. All and all, a great build. I hope to see more of these in the future.

This set is hands down the favorite of my collection. All of the building techniques were super fun and interesting to build. It's pleasing to look at and is such a fun theme.

Impeccable Detail except for one thing

As a musician and former jazz vocalist, I really wanted to have this set in my collection. It did not disappoint! I am so impressed, over and over, with the design and attention to detail by the LEGO designers. This set was no different. To see a string bass evolve out of a pile of plastic bricks still puts me in LEGO nirvana. I love that the musicians are somewhat articulated so you can adjust them to some degree.
My only beef with this set was the piano top. There is so much detail inside the piano that no one will see (for example, the hammers (!) and even the red felt area behind the keys!), that I don’t understand WHY the top wasn’t finished with the smooth bricks! It really doesn’t compute that the entire piano is smooth and finished and the top is left with the studs showing?? I think I will have to order some smooth bricks just to get the smooth top. Anyway designers, if you are going to be so detailed, take it to the finish! This just seemed like a shortcut to me, which is the only reason I gave this set 4 stars instead of 5.
Other than that, the build was interesting and fun and the finished product sits right on top of my own piano. I love it!

Great Design Overall, a couple things lacking

Overall this set after finished looks beautiful on my shelf. My biggest issue with this set is how fragile it is. While building small pieces on each person/instrument I had to rebuild certain sections multiple times.
My only other real qualm is it would have been cool to see smaller minifigs of each character on the staircase in the front, of at least a small plaque stating the model and year.
Overall good and great display piece, but not perfect.
