Bad Product

It won't feed paper, no matter what I do. It says remove paper jam. There is no paper jammed. I checked as required. Should not happen. Should be checked by Epson before sending it out to the store for sale. Very Disappointed.

Home and Office

I have had prior Epson electronics stereo, vcr and such items I needed a dual tray printer for my home and office as a signing agent, realtor and bookkeeper. I need to print both letter and legal pages in loan docs. I love the large capacity ink cartridges. Only one minor set back that I have is the switching from letter to legal the printer does do this but it's only minor because I have a PDF sorter program and it sorts the pdf into letter and legal and tells me the order they go back into. but I love the quality of the printing. I can also print to it from my phone, my tablet. I even went an purchased an Epson single tray printer-copier-scanner for my outside office. te one at home office also faxes. The cost was cheaper then others I had looked at and the cost of ink cheaper but I have not sacrificed quality of my printing.

Work Force 840

I'm a Real Estate Broker/Agent I have had a Work Force 840 All in one for the last 3 years. I found this as an effective tool for my business. It was reliable, and produce sharp copies and scan documents with ease. I also relied on Epson Support as a key player to help me through issues which were few in number. But they were there when I needed them. I have just purchased a WF-3540 to replace my WF-840. My daughter will get my 3.5 year old WF-840. I setup my new WF-3540 with the assistance of Epson Support and it was a breeze. I look forward to getting 3-5 years service from my new investment. This is a quality tool which I rely on to provide quality brochures, print-outs, faxes and scan documents. If I got a lemon I'm sure Epson will stand by me. After all Epson has been my choice of printer for the last 20 years. That is why I feel comfortable about writing this short review on my personal experience with Epson Priducts.

Printer was so easy to set up and install, I thought it was going to be terrific. Alas, there are major problems. First, as soon as I upgraded my iMac to Mavericks, the scanner stopped working. The support person told me a work-around, but that stopped working after a couple of tries.
And - even more annoying - half the time when I try to print, it says "Printer not connected" when yes, it is. It happens randomly. About the only thing I can count on is its use as a copier. That is does. I like the machine, but I have never had so much trouble with an all-in-one.

WorkForce WF-3540

The WorkForce 3540 is a useful, all-round, all-in-one small office/home office machine. It's principal advantages in our setting are its wireless capability, its fast routine printing, its high quality photo printing, and its wireless scanning. We have four MacBook Pros, an iMac, and three iPhones in our familty that are all able to print from it over an AirPort Express/DSL network. The networking was easy to set up and works flawlessly. In printing photos, it produces fine color rendition and good saturation with the fine detail that we strive to create when using our DLSRs (three of us are serious amateur photographers). In routine daily printing, it is fast and reliable. The double-sided printing is a very nice budget-saving feature. The wireless scanning capability is a plus since we have at least one artist/illustrator who works in her studio but is able to run her MacBook upstairs to scan images without messing with cables or interfere with work being done at the desk by me or my wife. Finally, while we don't use it much, we have found the faxing features to work very nicely, both in the connectivity, ease-of-use, and its ability to scan multiple images to fax. The ability to print from camera data cards is nice but less of a necessity because we do most of our post-processing on the computers then send the final images to the printer directly. All-in-all, we are very pleased with our WF-3540 and have encouraged others to consider it for either an active household like ours, or for a small business office, too.

Scanning

The scanner does not stay connected to my computer, so if I wait longer than 5 minutes between scans I have to restart my computer to reestablish the connection. MAJOR PAIN!!
Also, the scanned images have very high file sizes and the quality isn't that great.
I wish it was easier to correct these settings.

Best All In One Printer on the market

Without question, this is the best printer I have ever owned in over 30 years. I have been using the 3540 for over six months and it has not failed me at all. This printer has it over all of the major brands, hands down. Excellent job Epson.

wf 3540

I bought it mainly for less smearing with Dura Ink.
I print computer checks so fields can be filled in
automatically. I have a WF600 which I could not clean the print heads manually and like the wf3540 I can only align the print fields to be marginally acceptable. It is still a good printer.
