I am disappointed in the Fax ring setup combination for answering machine. I read and followed the instructions and no matter how many rings I set the fax to pick up the call (after my answering machine ring number), I still have to make the client wait while I go to the office to shut the printer OFF to be able to speak to the client without a siren going off in both our ears.

Mac Users beware

After I purchased the WF-3540 for all the great features and benefits, I found out that all those great features and benefits were ONLY for the Windows users. The 2 trays do not change when 1 is empty, 2 sided printing only works on windows PC's, and more.

Never connects to my computer

Also I was initially pleased with this printer, it NEVER connects to my laptop...I continually have to cancel the print job and redo it, OVER AND OVER, because the freakin printer won't connect to my laptop. It takes about 20 tries to finally do so- and it doesn't always work! I'm seriously considering replacing this printer pronto...

Worst printer experience i have ever had.

Each day I start my work at 3:30 am. I have a deadline to get my word done and it affects the our entire operation. Each day since I have bought this printer it will not print and I spend 2 hours trying to get it to work properly. I just want to do my work and then hit print and have a document print out. When it does print there is an unusual delay. Most times it simply does not work at all. just sits there, or doesn't wake up. I have had the internet provider here to see if it is the service that has an issue and it works fine. I can do everything besides print to this printer on my wireless network. Admittedly, I am not very tech proficient. But you should not have to be an IT professional to get a wireless printer to work. I have went through the user manual several times and about all I can see is that it says if the printer does not work with the router, get another router. I don't have that luxury, the router is provided by the internet service. Set up should be simple, I don't have hours to spend trying to get this thing to work. I will be returning it to the store where I purchased it. They have an excellent return policy.

Good but some problems

I purchased the WF-7620 two weeks ago. The printing is of laser quality. The color XL tri-pack cartridges last good but are difficult to find in local retail stores. Have major problems with paper jams and color printouts. I waste too much paper because of paper jams. Some colors on the printouts are not the color that they should be. It scans rather slowly. It is big, bulky and heavy.
It would be a very good printer if Epson would correct the above mentioned problems.

Worst purchase ever

If there ever was a piece of garbage that I have purchased this one takes the cake. It has been a continuing litany of problems with this thing. I have never been able to get the unit to print double sided and when I have tried to set this function I end up having to uninstall and reinstall the application. Reinstalling can be a hit and miss affair. Sometimes it will load fully. At other times it will partially load and then quit. I have uninstalled and reinstalled this app so many times the disk must be wearing out. At present it will not scan although it was working fine this morning. The progress bar for the scan will activate but it closes after on progress block has appeared. I have problems with colour reproduction. I continually get messages that there is a paper jam when none exists. This is the second WF-3540 I have had and I expect the third one will be no better. You are better off with a chisel and a stone tablet than having to put up with this disaster. This will definitely be the last Epson product I ever buy.

It needs a dedicated phone line

I was extremely disappointed to learn that you cannot use this machine (or any Epson all-in-one I was told) without a dedicated phone line. So if you wanted to hook it into a second phone line in an office, but still wanted to take incoming calls on "auto" (making it convenient as a phone/fax), you cnnot do this unless you get a distinctive ring pattern to avoid having the machine think a fax is coming in when you are having a conversation. This requires a monthly fee and a new fax #
