Still waiting to fire up however compared to my mystery grill this is certainly made well and surprisingly easy to assemble . Had many new features including WI/FI , removable adh tray and a way to get pellets out! May not sound all that great however my lady grill caught fire in the pellet box and I had to disassemble it from grill to clean out. Anyway I am on target this weekend to put it through a grilling!
I’ve been enjoying my new smoker so much! It works amazing and does all the work for me. I would recommend it to anyone. It’s a game changer. 👍
Initial cook off temperatures windchill was 20 degrees below zero, minus 2 Super Bowl Saturday. First cook, mexican street corn and 2" ribeye steaks, windchill was 30 below zero and minus 5 on Super Bowl Sunday. This did not discourage me from raving the elements and asking a great deal from my new 'Beast'! Searing was toughest, as every time you opened lid to turn and/or flip steaks, significant heat was lost. My Beast got the job done, despite the adversity. Temperature got to 500 degrees in the elements within 40 minutes. When I dropped the temperature down to 250 after searing, the Beast held steady at 250 for most of the time. Low of 248, high of 255. Considering the elements, this is outstanding! I have yet to set up the wi-fi option; I am waiting for the temperature to rise above zero degrees. Very pleased with performance at this time. One small hiccup, super smoke only works at 160 degrees. When I set it to super smoke for halibut on Saturday night, the temperature dropped and the unit automatically shut off due to low temperature. Would like the super smoke option to happen around 190-220 for slow smoking. However, this is not a reason not to acquire this Beast. I would change the name of this unit officially on your website to "Beast" instead of multitasker. In the bar-b--que/smoking world, Beast is not offensive. Keep up the great job!
1st cook was at -13 degrees and stayed within degrees of set temp.easy put together and quality is what I hoped for. So far feel like money well spent on the 11002b multi tasker.nothing like taking a nap while cooking.completly giving up the offset.
This is the first pellet smoker I've ever owned... so far I've grilled on it 3 times, and did a 6 hour smoke on it. Overall it's a great product. However, there are a few things that I've found so far. The app temps dont match after its hit its target. The temp will match as it's climbing, but as soon as it'll reach target it will have about a 30 degree difference. Setting up the smoker was a little annoying. The first piece was at the top of box 2, and the second piece was at the bottom of box 1. Other than that the smoker itself is phenomenal!
In order to compare apples to apples I opted for and old standby. The 3-2-1 pork spare rib smoke. Executed countless times on my old smoker. 2 racks of ribs covers with my favorite rub (it’s mine, sorry…get your own). Set the smoker up at 225 DegF…temp control on this smoker is great. Monitored on the app and had a 2-3 DegF deviation and the majority of the time dead on 225. The result…WOW…WOW…All I can say is…WOW!!! The Z Grill definitely showed its colors. Temperature control spot on. Speaking of the App…it needs some work…nothing that other reviews haven’t pointed out. Work on some updates. Next smoke will be some beef cheeks (Barbacoa!!!). This is a definite upgrade from my Pit Boss…
