My first 2 fires on my 1000D4E made delicious burgers and pork shoulders. Temperature controlled consistently and perfect smokey flavor. Sadly WiFi connectivity is disappointing. I have tried repeatedly connecting to 2.4GHz with no success. I’ve gotten into my IP settings and turned off the 5GHz, restarted, ensured my cell is only connected to 2.4 and still no success. Connecting to WiFi should not be this difficult.
Fired up the new smoker a few times in the first 2 weeks for some long cooks; brisket, beef roast, ribs, pork butt, pork belly. Worked like a charm each time. The build was easy. The quality is great. Great smoke flavor and smoke ring. Fires up super easy and gets up to temperature in minutes. The grill held temp very constant all the way through the cooks. Even did an overnight cook with no issues. 2 minor suggestions; the covers fit isn’t the greatest and is fit to be snug around all the angles and smoke stack but I’d suggest giving it a little extra space and not have the snug fit around the smoke stack to make taking it on/off easier, and the app is mostly great but I’d love to see the app track the temperature readings over time on a chart to see how the cook progressed and maybe even give a prediction of estimated time left in the cook. Overall I am absolutely loving the ZGrill and would highly recommend.
Wifi has been a little tricky. But the Grill appears to work well. Lots of racks for stacking ribs etc. About 1 1/2 hour assembly. Ready for the weekend.
Just getting started. Did the initial burn off, and then one smoke on some salmon and chicken! Was smooth sailing - all except the wifi. Can't get it to connect. Unfortunately it only works on 2.4G. I'll have to figure out a work around. But the the hopper and pellets and burn and clean up all went excellently! This is my first smoker so... I'm still learning but excited to move on to bigger and better and bolder smokes! Thanks ZGrills!
Easy to put together, we have cooked a ton in the last two weeks. It's also easy to clean. A couple of the recipes have called for specific cook times but we had to cook things a couple hours longer, I only hesitate to give 5 stars because this is the first pellet grill we have ever owned so we don't really have another frame of reference.
