Not as good as expected.

Mower is not as powerful as expected. Bogs down even when grass is not tall and kills the battery FAST! Definitely not made for Bermuda grass. Blades dull down very fast. Biggest issue is that some materials are cheap and starting to disintegrate.

Junk

Used it approximately 30 times in a little over a year. It runs for 10 minutes then the battery needs to be re-charged. It take less than 5 minutes to fully charge and still it runs for only 10 minutes. It is clearly either a defect or they make junk. They have not responded to multiple emails claiming that they are protecting their employees. Seems they have not figured out how to work remotely. Avoid this product and this company.

Hello Burned,
Thank you for your feedback; we are very sorry for the delay in addressing your emails. Since the beginning of the pandemic, we have had some challenges responding to the high volume of requests coming in as was previously done. Our team has been doing our best to be in contact with each waiting customer as promptly and safely as possible as we are all adjusting to new changes the best we can. We can assure you that the delays currently taking place are not typical under normal circumstances. We have been receiving understanding and patience from many of our customers through this difficult time which has been appreciated; we hope you will come to understand and bear with us as well. We know that this is not an ideal situation. If you have not sent a request in a while, please send another request and ensure that your request has been submitted using the customer contact page located on our website and one of our team members will be in contact with you at the earliest opportunity to discuss this matter. Ensure that you have also checked your junk/spam folder just in case our reply went to that folder. In the meantime, here are a few troubleshooting suggestions to check out. 1) When the battery is inserted, the light should begin flashing green to indicate the battery is charging. If this light is not igniting or is flashing red, this may indicate an issue and we would be interested in hearing more about this. If the light simply goes solid red, try removing the battery and unplugging the charger for about 10 minutes and place them both indoors in a room temperature setting, as this might indicate the battery is at the incorrect temperature to be charged. 2) Ensure that the battery has been fully inserted into the charger. Sometimes this requires a firm push into place to make sure that it has been properly seated. 3) Try resetting the charger. To do this, simply unplug it for approximately 10 minutes and then plug it back in and try reinserting the battery. If the charger has been plugged in for extended periods of time, this can sometimes cause the charger to malfunction. Hope these suggestions help.

Won’t stand grass up for cutting

I’ve had this model for three years now and cannot find a way to mow my lawn without having to go back over the entire lawn manually with a rake to stand up the grass that the lawn mower missed, then go over it again with the mower. I saw a statement on greenworks’ website indicating that their Heavy Duty replacement blade might address the problem, but it’s been on back order for literally years. I’d be quite happy with the mower if green works would address this serious flaw.

Hello TominGH
Thank you for your feedback! Sorry to hear you are not satisfied with the cut of this lawn mower. The cause of streaking could be the way the user mows, but it also may be the result of some generally causes that create this problem. Overlapping each pass in the lawn you make with the lawnmower allows the mowing blades to contact each blade of grass and ensures no areas are missed. The overlap need not be very large. Overlapping by only 1 or 2 inches is enough. As you complete a pass and make your turn for the next one, line up the mower’s wheels with the indentation the wheels made during the previous pass. Another suggestion to take into consideration, a clean mowing deck. Over the course of the mowing season, the underside of the mower’s deck collects dirt, mud, and grass clippings. Even if you mow your grass when it’s dry, the blades still attract some moisture, which tends to make grass clippings clump underneath the deck. This debris hampers both air and grass clipping movement inside the deck. Streaking could be one indication that the deck needs cleaning. With the battery removed or mower unplugged check the underside. Scrape off grass, mud and dirt clinging to the deck by using a wired brush be careful not to cut your hands on the mower blades. Lastly, bent blades and those with severe nicks in them also cause streaking. Examine the condition of the blades while you are cleaning its deck. If a blade is bent, replacing it is the best course of action. The same is true with if a blade’s cutting edge is badly damaged. Because the blades rotate at high speeds, collisions with rocks and other solid objects are enough to damage the blades beyond the point they can be ground to good mowing condition. The cutting edge of lightly nicked blades or dull blades can be restored by using a bench grinder or have the blades sharpened by a professional. Hoping these suggestion help. If you have any follow up questions, or concerns we urge you to contact us at 1-888-909-6757 (1-888-90WORKS) or by email on info@greenworkstools.com for further assistance. We are happy to help.

I like everything about this lawnmower EXCEPT that I had wanted a self-propelled model, which Greenworks does not make...yet! Great on flat lawns; a bit difficult on hills and when you don't have much room to turn machine around. I can't exchange it because there is nothing to replace it with!

I've had the pleasure of using this mower 3 times in our yard (normal city yard) and once in a large yard and I am VERY happy with it. It replaced our old 4.5 HP mower and so far there have been 0 compromises. My favorite part is the push button start, way better than pulling a cord hoping it starts. Its also very quite which makes mowing the yard much more enjoyable.
The variable speed makes it only mow as hard as it needs to, and the 4 Amp battery seems to have a run time of at least 1 hour.
Its light enough to pickup my self (makes it easy to transport) and its easy to get it to rest upright so it takes less space in the garage.
Thus far I've used mulch tall grass without the bag and it preformed better than our old mower. Also used it last weekend with the bag to mulch heavy leaves and it ate them up without any issue.
This mower has made me realize there is very little use for internal combustion engines!!
I would recommend this to a friend!
