Nice stove. Controls could be better.

Now that we've become accustomed to induction, we can write a brief review.
The stove is fine. We like using it very much. We have only five issues:
1. The touch controls are vastly inferior to mechanical controls. They frequently fail to sense our finger touch and often require several attempts at every point along the way of operation. The touch controls cannot be used if the top is not brightly lit, as they are hard to see. Because of the lack of touch reliability, they require great care in use, as one can inadvertently activate the wrong burner.
2. KEEP THE COOKTOP CLEAR OF OTHER PANS! The inadvertent activation of the wrong burner mentioned in 1 once caused a wrong burner to turn on at setting 8, in addition to the correct burner turning on at setting 8. A steel cookie sheet was set aside over that other (wrong) burner. After several minutes, a strange metallic odor permeated the house. We discovered that a cookie sheet we had shoved out of the way was heated to a very high temperature. It discolored the cooktop at that burner and permanently blackened the cookie sheet at the point where it touched the burner. This all happened in a short period of time.
3. The larger burners are both in the rear, which causes us some back strain if we cook with a large pan, as we must constantly reach out and over in order to use them. You would thing the larger burners would be in the front and the small ones in the back, as they were with our old gas stove.
4. The burner settings are pretty worthless below about 6, giving only four useful settings. We've experimented with settings 1, 2, 3 and 4. Even after five minutes, the 2-liter pot of water was cold. Despite what the manual says, the lower settings are not practical.
5. The oven controls are all in the front and are quite small, so we cannot see them without bending over. One needs excellent eyesight (no bifocals) to use them.
Were it not for the controls, we would give the stove a solid four stars. Were it not for the problem in number 4, above, we would give it a solid five stars.

I LOVE THIS RANGE!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We love this stove! It has so many functions for the stay at home foodie who loves to cook. This stove features multirack convection tempatures, built in meat thermometer, warming drawer, smart temp on the stove so your oil and garlic/onion won't burn and much more! The stove top goes over your counter so there are no spills or food in the gaps! The range is very affordable and looks extremely elegant in the home.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I'm loving how much faster the burners heat up and when I
lower the heat it's instantaneous! The convection oven has improved the results of my baking too! The last batch of scones came out so perfectly lightly browned!

It has some bugs

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall, we like the induction range feature. However, another feature that we loved for one use was the temperature probe. It stopped working after that. Also, the warming drawer/storage area does not close easily. Most of the time, once we open the drawer it takes numerous attempts to get it to close again. It just pops back open. Unfortunately, when I tried to register it to get some assistance, the system was down. Pretty frustrating overall and not sure it was worth the extra money for the Bosch name.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Bosch 800 Induction Range

Was worried about the induction cooktop sound with cast iron (Smithey) and stainless steel (AllClad) cookware but no issues thus far. Minor buzzing but nothing louder/more annoying than I would expect from gas or my old electric. Heats well, love the layout, induction is quick to boil water. Overall its a huge improvement, feels well built, and is cooking great!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Beautiful and works well so far. I have not noticed the difference between this and a regular electric range. Need to be careful with scratches, especially with using Iron skillets.
