I bought a pre-built gaming machine, to do general computer tasks, gaming, and graphics work. IT came with a 3070 which worked well, but I wanted a better card.
Bought this 3080 OC 12 GB model from a local retailer (yes, he had 3 in stock!).
Upgraded my power supply to a 1000 W unit.
So this video card is just plain awesome. Takes whatever you throw at it.
Nice and smooth, no hiccups. Really close to a 3080 Ti and not that far from 3090 benchmarks. So, I'm happy with my purchase and I'd recommend it for someone who wants a powerful card that will not be obsolete for awhile.
I don't hear any coil whine and the card doesn't seem to be running hot, even when it's being stressed. The RGB is nice, not crazy, and fiits in with the rest of the RGB in my case.
