My son is obsessed with it

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My son is 8 years old and he absolutely loves Minecraft. As soon as he opened the box, the first thing he said was about how real the bow and arrow looks, and it really does look exactly like the one in the game. The sound effects are really cool, for when he actually shoots the arrow, and they tend to work accurately 9 times out of 10. He got the bow and arrow a couple days ago, and he will not put it down, he is absolutely obsessed with it!
The one thing I will say about it though, that I wish could have been better, is that the pulling mechanism is a bit flimsy and I'm scared it will end up ripping sooner than later if he's not careful with it. Overall though, I would definitely recommend it for all the Minecraft kids!

Great Minecraft Bow and Arrow set for your Child!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My son loves playing with the Minecraft Ultimate Bow and Arrow. The sound when pulling back the bow and releasing the arrow is great! The soft foam tip on the arrow makes it safe to play around the house. This is a great addition to any kids Minecraft armory! I love that fact that we can have real world adventures, using Minecraft gear, so he isn't always glued to his electronic devices. I would highly recommend this toy to any Minecraft lovers! Hopefully Mattel will offer an add-on pack that might include a quiver with some extra arrows!

Super fun!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Super fun! Sound effects are cool and loud enough to hear. The bow is well made and a good size for the intended age group. The arrow tip is thick but soft enough to not hurt anyone. The only thing that could pose a problem would be the foam parts of the toy after some time I can see my kids ripping the foam but I believe it will last long enough to get some good playtime. It is very easy to tell it's a Minecraft toy by the design block style. Overall a good functioning toy that I had fun with and enjoyed with my kids.

Super awesome toy for kids

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My so. Love Minecraft so this was a perfect addition to his collection. He used it regularly and I think the quality should hold us to his abuse. His sisters are even trying to get some time with it as well. Great toy!

Awesome for role playing!

While watching him play with this bow and arrow, it became clear that one would not even have to be familiar with Minecraft to enjoy this toy. My son loves the different sound effects the toy has. It feels very sturdy. The arrow tip and the draw string are a firm, foam material while the rest of the toy is hard, plastic. The only complaint is that the draw string started hurting my son’s hand the tighter he drew the string back. Otherwise, he loves the toy. Even my husband enjoyed playing with it.

My son was super excited to open this one. As a big Minecraft fan, he enjoys playing Minecraft both inside the game and out. His other
Minecraft toys (sword and pick axe), do not have any sounds, so this is an upgrade for him. The size works well with his other toys and the
bow is surprisingly easy and comfortable to fire. He says he gives it 5 stars, no cons at all!

As a parent I will say this toy is well made. The "string" is a sponge like foam that appears to be well made. There is a track (in the stock of the bow) that is made of 2 wheels that you load the arrow through. It seems to keep the arrow in place nicely.
The tip of the arrow is a firm foam material. Hard enough to keep its shape, but soft enough to not hurt should it hit someone.
The sounds are great. from the sound of pulling back the bow to it firing is very good. It also plays sounds when it hits its "target". The sounds we observed were: striking a target or tree,
TNT, Enderman and Zombie. The sounds appear to be random. While there is no volume control, the volume wasn't something that was obnoxiously high, if anything I would say right where it should be.

The arrow doesn't travel very fast. A good speed given the type of toy it is. We consistently had the arrow traveling 10-20 feet (in the house).
Pros: Well made, fun, sounds are great, scales well to other Minecraft toys we already own.
Cons: While the item name on the websites say "Lights & Sounds", there is no Lights to this weapon, so its misleading. We only saw "sounds" on the packaging, so this seems
to only be a issue with the name used on retail websites. I don't see where any lights would be used, so it doesn't take away from the toy. The only other con we see is the battery
requirement. Three LR44 (round) batteries are required. I would have rather AA or AAA batteries for this type of toy. We always have those laying around the house, but the round batteries
will require a trip to the store when they run out. The bow comes with batteries, we will see how long they last.

Bring on the Creepers!

The very best thing is it shoots the arrow with sound effects! Soft tip is safe for indoor play areas. Matched up size with his other Minecraft toys. Packaging requires adult assistance. Ready to play out of box with battery inculded.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Fantastic toy to go along with the Minecraft sword! The kids are actually in the backyard as I type this, “hunting for Creepers”. Pulling and releasing of the “bow string” makes sounds from the game, just like how the sword does.
