My original until quit working within a year. They replaced it for free. Then the 2nd unit quit working within 2 years. Now they will not replace my unit even though it is only 2 years old. I also purchased a stand alone grinder which also stopped working (the blade fell off) and they will not warranty that unit either. Unfortunately, I was very happy with Cuisinart up until now. I will no longer recommend their products.

Replacing our old Cuisinart Coffeemaker we’ve had for the past 13 years; an easy enough transition. Using it like our old unit, everything seems to be working as expected. It’s unclear to me how the strength setting is changing anything from pot to pot (this is specifically why I rated it 4/5). We have resorted to only filling the hopper with that pot’s beans as even at its weakest setting it’s generating far more grounds (using more beans) than we did using our old Maker. Kinda defeats the purpose of the hopper rather than refilling the individual pot required on our old unit. The unit is also slightly taller than our old unit, so it just barely fits on the counter under the cupboards. There is no extra room to place it on a tray to catch any overflow should someone forget to fully empty the last pot from the carafe before brewing a new pot.

If you love coffee, especially straight from bean, this machine delivers. It merges the convenience of an automated drip brewer with many of the benefits of a more artisanal grinder setup. For anyone who wants better flavor this is the coffee maker for you

Misleading description, makes weak coffee

Both the product description and the reviews are misleading. You CANNOT adjust the grind size beyond setting the strength. The actual grind size is set and in my opinion is too coarse and produces a weak brew even when the machine is set on the strongest setting. I got this machine specifically for the grinder and now that aspect is worthless. I will have to pre grind my coffee in a separate grinder to get a decent cup. Very disappointing. Unfortunately I cannot return it so I’m stuck with an expensive coffee maker that does not perform as described.

Pretty Nice Coffee Maker

I've read a few positive reviews and a few negative reviews, and I thought I would share mine. While you can't actually control the grind, you can control the strength. Plus you can always pour in water for let's say 8 cups and then set your grinder for 10 cups and it'll make it stronger than even the strongest setting. Or go the other way and put in water for 8 cups and set it for 6 to make it a little less strong. I find that the water heats up just fine I like the thermal carafe because it does keep it hot for quite a while. The only problem I have is that I have never been able to pour my coffee without spilling it if I leave the lid on, so I've just learned to take the lid off pour my cup of coffee and put the lid back on till I need my next cup. Hense the 4 stars. Maybe a little bit of a pain, but it's worth it for the good fresh coffee it makes. Of course the beans have a lot to do with it too.

OG glass carafe and burner is better. Thermo-lid design is difficult to pour. Carafe difficult to clean. Coffee still good.

Fresh Ground Coffee Every Morning!

I bought this to replace our Technivorm Moccamaster; the Burr Grind and Brew makes a great cup of coffee and the carafe keeps the coffee at perfect drinking temp for a few hours. Controls are fairly intuitive and programming was simple. I like the reusable gold filter, easy to clean out the grounds and the fact that you can store 1/2 lb of beans in the hopper, is super convenient.
It is tall, my only complaint is how tall it is! It's not a big footprint on the counter, but its too tall to fit under cabinets, the cord is also quite short...so it took a little rearranging, but these are minor issues for a machine that delivers a perfect cup!
