This is an attractive appliance, simple to use, with well-written instructions. It brews great coffee, either whole bean or ground. The trick is to get it from the carafe to your cup. I always brew a full carafe, and the first half or so pours directly from the spout into the cup. Below half, and the coffee flows to the sides of the opening as well as the spout, and much of it misses the cup, which is both frustrating and messy. Perhaps I have a defective lid, but it is such a simple device I don't see how. So far the solution is to remove the lid before pouring.

I purchased this about a year ago. I’ve always had an issue with coffee grinds coming out the side and down the carafe during grinding but it’s gotten progressively worse as of late. I called and was able to get a replacement basket however it did not resolve the issue. It has elevated it a bit but is still annoying knowing all the grounds that get wasted on every brew. Customer service was excellent when dealing with them on the phone.

I bought this model to replace my old Grind and Brew. The carafe leaked, the coffee was not hot enough, and the machine beeped that the coffee was made before it was. I was very disappointed and returned it to the store.

the look of the unit is very nice. however, it's made for 4-10 cups, why have a 2 cup indicator for water on the side when there isn't a 2 cup indicated on the grind control? the water indicator is on the side in the back and unless you are 6 feet not so easy to see when pouring water. the water container is in the back and narrow and spillage is very easy to do. the carafe does not have any indicator on how much water you have put into it (it's not see through) so pouring a whole carafe isn't always going to fill it up. in addition, if you don't have the lid on perfect (it's black on black & hard to see sometimes), you end up spilling coffee on the counter. plus if you only want say 6 or 8 cups of coffee, it's hard to gauge and you can waste water if you put too much in trying to get it to the desired cups. i'm returning and very disappointed for the amount of $$ this unit is.

This machine won't keep an accurate time. It speeds up over time making the timer function useless. The entire reason we purchased this was to be able to wake up to freshly ground brewed coffee and that's impossible with the defective clock.

I've owned so many Cuisinart products and enjoyed all of them. This missed your mark. First you must be a tall person or have a lower than standard counter in order to fill the water. Same is true to add beans. Removing the cover of the carafe appeared simple, but even a 6'4" firefighter found it to be difficult. It's difficult to fill out this form.

It’s difficult to clean the hopper as it isn’t removable. For reasons that escape me, the carafe leaks when coffee is poured. I find it I excusable that cuisinart can’t make a carafe that pours without spilling.
