Had the first version for 36 years was a work horse. This one is all plastic, very lightweight, doesn’t spin as fast as original and my guess won’t last as long. Bounces on the counter when you use it.

I bought this after reading through reviews. This one look nice and perfect size. Easy to clean. Do perfect chopping for onions and other vegetables. Also, used for making puree but few things like tomato and chickpea work well, but fails for nuts, cilantro and few other things. Once it stopped working during little long use, but it started again, may be due to overload/overheating. The jar can be little more tough, it feels like it can break.

Solid, powerful, cleans easily. However, my primary use is Indian cooking - I want to take 6 cloves of garlic and 2 inches of ginger root, cut them into small cubes, put them in and get a ginger garlic paste consistency. However, it's too small a quantity for this 4 cup machine. The bits just get flung to the side. I have to start and stop, use a spatula about 20 times to get a paste.

It’s not as loud as most choppers/grinders I have used previously. Love that it has two options in one (chop & grind). Perfect size and works very well! I love it in white color gives an elegant and clean look by complimenting the rest of my kitchen gadgets :)

Convenient and light; however, the small blade has difficulty chopping such benign things as dried (but soft) sour cherries. To accomplish this requires surprisingly long run times with frequent interruptions to scrape down the bowl.

I own the 14 cup custom Cuisinart food processer which is wonderful. I purchased the four-cup for small tasks. I initially started with two-serving vinaigrettes, keeping the liquid volume safely low, and adding chunks of feta shallot, olives, fresh herbs, etc. I like the paddles for chop and grind rather than push buttons. I like how the canister locks onto the base, how the lid locks onto the canister, the locking blade and its usefulness, the dual directional blade action, the large handle. Very nice--thank you Cuisinart!
