I own a 16 cup Breville Sous Chef Peel and Dice and also a mini food processor, but often found that the Breville was too large to do a good job on standard food processing of smaller batches with the S blade, and the smaller container it came with or my mini one were too small. The Breville also does not have a dishwasher safe container and has a TON of parts to wash so for a simple mid size project of just using the S blade, it felt a bit cumbersome to have to hand wash so many parts. So it occured to me that maybe what I need is a more basic mid size food prosessor for quick everyday use and then just use my 16 cup Breville for large projects. I found this 10 cup Cuisinart, and the fact that it has fewer parts to wash and they are dishwasher safe, plus the parts store insiide of it, made me feel it was a good option. So now I leave this 10 cup mkdel on my counter and pull the large Brevile out when needed. This Cuisinart does not seem nearfly as robust, as the whole thing shakes and is loud even for an easy batch of hummus, but since the feet have suction cups it doesn't move around the counter when shaking at least. It seems that the loudness and shaking do not affect the functionality and it works well and the container and lid pieces can be washed in the dishwasher along with the blades. For 20 years I have cooked every meal for my family entirely from scratch and do not purchase prepackaged or canned foods. I cook a lot every single day so for me having multiple processors makes sense. If I could only own one it woukd be a larger and more robust option than this model because I cook and bake a lot, but for my purposes of needing a mid sized machine that was easy to clean so that I don't always have to use my huge machine and spend forever washing all the parts and deal with the issue of smaller batches being too small for the huge bowl and too large for the mini bowl, this 10 cup Cuisinart is great.

I bought this FP to replace an ancient Cuisinart processor (circa 1980) that could not be repaired. The size--height and capacity (not too big)-- appealed to me as well as what appeared to be simple operation (something I loved about my old DCL. What I discovered was that the blades did not shred evenly, but I cared far less about that than I did the difficulty I have locking the bowl in place. WHY on earth does it require so much muscle?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The new Cuisinart Core Custom 10-Cup food processor is a powerful piece of machine for your kitchen to match any decor. I have been using this for a few days now and it has been great. I have been using this for everything from shredding cheese to slicing up fruits and vegetables. The food processor is super easy to use. It has buttons for Low, High and Pulse. The unit comes with two shredding and slicing blades and a regular blade and when you are all done, it all packs up nicely in the processing cup to put away. Really nice.

I had the old DC10 and loved that model but I really would have liked a few more discs but they were extra. With this new one you can just flip the disc and you end up with 4 different slicing/shredding jobs. Love the self storage so everything is together. My only complaint is the hopper for cheeses and cucumbers, etc. is narrower than the older model so some items don't fit without cutting them smaller.

I like the 10 cup size. It’s not too big to keep on our counter. All the pieces fit into the bowl for easy storage. The machine is not too loud, it chops and slices nicely and quickly! I had looked for a food processor for 2 years, I’m very happy with my choice.
