Very loud buzzing when elements are on

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The largest element is in the middle and towards the back making it difficult to reach. When you are using it you can’t put much on the other elements. Too close together. It makes a loud buzzing noise when it’s on. Can’t get ahold of anyone to ask if that’s normal.

The burners do not get hot enough

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It's defective. The burners don't work correctly. If you turn on the back burner while you are cooking on the front burner both burners turn down the heat.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I haven’t experienced any advantage over a standard cooktop. There are also disadvantages such as needing specific pots and pans; making sure the pot is exactly positioned over the burner, and the need to increase the electric source to achieve basic design performance. The cost was 4 times that of a nice Whirlpool cooktop. I guess, if I were a chef, it would be worth it. For me, I mad a poor decision.

Yes it is an induction cooktop sort of

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I previousely had a Kitchen aid induction cooktop for the last 10 years. It was quick and powerful. Pasta water boiled easily and quickly in a large pot. This new cooktop underperforms and is built vastly differently. The Boost function does not stay on to keep the water continuing up to boil, nope, it shuts down every 4-5 minutes. This requires you the cook to turn it back on. Instead of under 5 minutes to boil a large pot of water, it now takes over 10 minutes, just like a regular electric cooktop. The cooktop other levels are weak in comparison to my old induction top. This new cooktop starts at 5 when you turn it on and you can increase to 9. Basically 5 and below are too weak for sauteing or frying anything. Two functions that I do like are the timer on the cooktop and the lock.
Honestly, I'm so disappointed in this appliance. Had I known it had changed so much in the last 10 years, I would not have purchased it. I bought it based on expections and experience with my previous one.
I did have a service call and they told me that they had so many blown circuits and power issues that is why they dialed back on performance and created a limiter on the Boost function.

New to induction cooking

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love my induction cooktop! It heats up quickly and very responsive. Fun to cook my favorite dishes and try new ones. Glad I got the 5-zone model. It arrived 2 months later than I expected, though. Looking forward to holiday cooking!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So far, so good!
I am disappointed that GOOD user's guide does not come with it.
It is quite difficult to see/read the controls. The cooktop is black and the controls 'blend' in with the cooktop.
The warning when something is placed on top of the controls--AND, that it shuts off any burner that is turned on--is VERY annoying.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So far so good. I’m making some adjustments to electrical cooking after using a propane cooktop. It would be nice if it had one of the larger burners in front.
I would recommend this to a friend!

LOVE THIS TOO

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] LOVE IT TOO!! Recently needed to replace my old wall oven that died, so also went with a new cooktop. Since we got a KitchenAid wall oven, decided to go with the KitchenAid induction cooktop. So HAPPY that I did!! The heat adjusts SO MUCH BETTER than on my old cooktop, plus with 5 elements there is lots of room for all my pots… I do ALOT of cooking. Also cleans easily and I LOVE that if I forget to switch off an element, the cooktop does it for me! Thanks again KitchenAid for another great product.
