Very slow the screen glitches battery life sucks

This is the computer that was provided by my school and the screen blinks , it’s very slow, and the battery life sucks really fast

I am sure that this laptop will serve me quite well. However, it is challenging to get the most out of it initially without a proper users manually. Please direct me to one online for this model. I want to start taking fuller advantage of what this computer has to offer!
