Use DISTILLED water only

Well first of I LOVE this vac. It does make my floors feel barefoot clean. I have 4 dogs so it's a must to have something like this. I did not use distilled water therefore after 5 months of use...the steam NO longer works. :( It is my own fault as it says to use distilled only. I have tried a the tricks to get it to steam again w no luck. Make sure to do the maintenance as per instructions as well. Overall I was quite happy. I plan on buying another one right now.

Just like a shampoo/conditioner combo - you know that once you try a 2 in 1 it's never the same quality. As I suspected the vacuum was useless but the steam section was OK. Fine for a small apartment where you don't have much dirt to vacuum up first. Not worth that money though, should be more like $60 for what it does. Also ignore the instructional video - the steam does not get anywhere near as hot and it certainly doesn't pour out the sides. It also doesn't vacuum like that (love the 'dyson comparison - dream on!). Mine didn't even pick up small pieces of popcorn! Can't imagine what it would do with real dirt clumps.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product is AMAZING and a COMPLETE TIME SAVER. I can say at first I was VERY SKEPTICAL. No way could this sweep and mop at the same time! I was wrong. Why cover the same area twice when you can sweep and mop AT THE SAME TIME. It's quick and EASY and you have the choice of using the washable cloth or the disposable cleaning pad! I have used both and they work great. No cleaning solution need as you use hot steam to clean the floors but they do make scented pads but WHO NEEDS THAT! If you have kids, short on time or simply don't want to spend hours sweeping then mopping this is the product to use!! Works on ALL FLOOR SURFACES. I use it for hardwood and ceramic tile floors. Just be careful not to leave it on your wood floor as the steam will turn it white. No worries.......It came off with a little wax.

This machine is a great improvement over the previous steam cleaner. Not only does it vacuum but it is lighter to use. It produces better results with really hot steam cleaning the tiles . The greatest thing is the snap on snap off pads. If the pads were thicker like the previous ones it would be perfect. AMG - Florida

Glorified mop

This is a glorified mop. I'm so disappointed. I put this on my registry thinking it would pick up why little dirt and dust a family of 2 with no pets and little home time could make but all it does is push it around. The mop works great with the steamer but can get the floor hot enough to burn bare feet. Maybe I'm not using it right but it's pretty simple to plug in and press a button. The set up was easy as well so I'm not sure what I could be doing wrong. The only thing that I can clearly see is that there's a very small line for suction so nothing really fits. For all the noise it makes you'd assume it picks up a lot but basically I pulled a line of dust to the opening and blocked the suction spot. Definitely going to try to return it. My roomba picks up A LOT more dirt.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Perfect for apartments!

I live in an average size 2 bed apartment. Most of the floors are vinyl flooring (excluding the bedrooms). To clean the entire vinyl floor, it takes me at least 2 pads to do so. They get dirty so fast. I hate having to constantly be washing the pads. It's not too bad though, it really pucks up the debris well. I do love that I can no and vacuum at the same time! It is very convenient and such a time saver. I'm extremely happy with this purchase.
