I like that I can vacuum and steam mop at the same time but the quality is not great with this machine. It doesn't vacuum as well as my stand alone vacuum nor does it steam as well as my stand alone steam mop. Also, I cleaned up tracked litter with it and it caked to the sides of the canister, and then grew mold. I couldn't clean the canister out and there was a musty smell when I tried to use it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First of all, I want to make it clear that I like this device, as it's a great combination of functionality. I mostly use it in combo mode - low steam plus vacuum. Changing the pads is pretty straightforward, and I like the "drop-it" innovation on the dust cup (who wants to touch the filth that just got vacuumed up? not me!). It's a solid performer for me so far (I haven't owned it long enough to know if they still have the steam trigger issues from before). I use it on sealed hardwood floors and vinyl sheet. It's easy to put into stand-up position, and then to move it into "use-it" position. It's a bit hard to get into corners with it. When they next revise it, I'd like to see them put the adjustable height handle on this model (they have it on the non-pet Symphony), and it'd be nice if they had some sort of stand that kept it off of the floor - probably not important if you "park it" on vinyl, but I accidentally left it on my hardwood once while it was still plugged in, and got a white spot from it. Be aware that plugging it in starts up the water heater - and keeps it on. I'm also not sure exactly how useful the little silicone whiskers are on the front corners; if they rotated like a robots did, they'd make more sense to me. I keep a small spray bottle of neutral floor cleaner with me, in case there's an area that I feel needs it (I live on the wild side and use this on an engineered wood floor that says not to steam, so I move it quickly and lightly, and can't "steam out" the dog drool there like I would on a steam-safe floor).

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] All in all a good product. It does need some tweaking. The button for the steam process is located in a bad place or is too large. When using just the vacuum portion it is almost impossible to not steam. The steam button is in the way of normal holding. Also the canister tends to get blocked up at the filter quite easily. It is not hard to clear but an inconvenience having to stop and clear often. Also you need to put small wheels that can be lowered for quick runs on carpet to get dog hair or steam a small spot or accident.

Thanks for thinking!! This thing works GREAT! Vacuum doesn't miss anything. Mop is amazing. Doesn't blow the pet hair everywhere. Mop heads are soooo simple to switch out. Overly impressed. Hats off to you!!

I recently purchased the Symphony Pet even though I don't have a pet, I do have a grandson, who is almost 6 years old. I like the power of the vacuum and the steam cleaning is an extra bonus. My tile and laminate floors look great following the use and are very clean. Thanks Bissell for a very useful floor product.
