I switched to the 24oz battle after having used Takeya 40oz bottles for years. Although the 40oz was/are fantastic quality, the issue I had with them was that they were too large for my car's cup-holder, they were a bit cumbersome for my backpack & airplane travel; and carrying 40oz around on a walk was a bit heavy.
I have had two Active 240z bottles for 5 months now, and they are used on a daily basis.
IMHO the 24oz is the perfect size for daily use: unlike the 40oz version, the 24oz fits perfectly into the cupholders of my car and my wife's car, it's a more convenient size for airline travel and daypacks , and is lighter and less cumbersome for long walks, and yet 24oz is still plenty large enough to get my drink on.
IT IS WELL INSULATED: It keeps my drinks cold all day: if I fill it with ice in the morning, I can generally refill it with water several times throughout the day, and when I wake up the next day there is usually still ice left in it. And, it does not sweat.
I had a 24oz originals that had gotten lost in January after 7 months of use. When I went to order a new one I saw the "Actives" model and decided to try it out. I find the Actives superior to the original due to the bumper on the bottom ... it just makes putting the bottle down on the wood tables throughout my house feel much more comfortable. Also, although I never saw or felt the Original sweat, on a couple of occasions I noticed the original left a small mark/ring on one of my wood tables, as if the bottle had sweat. After 5 months of daily use with iced water, I have had zero issues with rings on the Actives; and that may be in part due to the bumper.
As for coating: I got one powdered coating bottle and one stainless steel color. The powder coating is superior in my opinion because the stainless still is more slippery in one's hands...especially when washing it.
As an aside, with respect to the lids: I found that the lid from my 40oz bottle can be swapped out with the lid on my 24oz bottle; turns out all their lids are the same size. Also, although the bottles are NOT dishwasher safe, according to their webpage their lids are dishwasher safe (I personally handwash my lid at the sametime I handwash my bottle, but it is nice to know the option is there).

I've worked in the outdoor recreation industry and construction for 50 years. My wife just bought my a large one, after hearing about them from our daughter and friends. I put cold water and some ice cubes in it in the morning and I have ice cold water all day! Even when I forgot it in my hot truck.

Item was received fairly quickly. I haven't used it yet for anything hot, but it keeps the ice solid for hours, even to the next day. It is well-constructed and very thoughtfully made. The price is reasonable for the high quality that you get. I like that the insulated cap has o-rings that have been designed easier to remove and change than the regular ones. I also love that Takeya sells replacement o-rings, I like to keep my cap clean and refresh them with new o-rings every so often.
