Great Induction Cooktop

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We had to replace our original Bosch induction cooktop when the wiring underneath began to smoke. We'd been very happy with it for 13 years so we decided to replace it with another Bosch unit. Our new unit heats quickly and the temperature can be controlled in small increments. The biggest reason we upgraded from our original 800 model to the Benchmark version was the ability to have the bridge element which allows the use of a griddle. The Speed Boost feature allows me to boil water so fast that I have to have my mug and teabag ready before I turn it on.

Induction from Gas

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We decided to replace our old Bosch gas Gas Cooktop 30” NGP735UC with an Induction unit, mainly becuase the Downdraft DHD 805AUC unit was not going to last. I'd repaired it a couple of times and parts are no longer available. So far, I like the Induction unit, but I'm still learning the feel for the thing. I love the speedboost for things like a quick boil for a poached egg and getting pasta water to temp. I specifically ordered this model for the flex area where I've used my cast iron griddle. I've been putting parchment paper under it to avoid scratches. I haven't gotten my head around autochef or power move. The hood controls don't work with the new HDD80051UC downdraft so they're useless buttons. I think the control area could be designed a little better and I think the temperature numbers should feel more like a glide switch. Unlike the oven I've yet to see a benefit to the wifi app. Since the cooktop area gets used as a counter surface at times we bought a silicone mat to cover when not in use. Something Bosch might consider adding.

Service call needed

Unfortunately, the front trim on the cook top glass started coming off after only a week, requiring a service call. After their review, they had to order a new top which is now on back order. Frustrated!

My first induction cooktop

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So far, so good. The pans heat up quickly and I find the controls easy to learn and operate. The speed boost is great for bringing liquid to a boil rapidly. I do wish the largest cooking element was at the front of the stove. I don't like reaching over a pan on the smaller element.

Better than gas

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was the first time we decided to use induction. Normally, we wouldn't even consider properties without gas cooking options. This induction definitely exceeded my expectations (I did get French-made induction ready pots and pans). Excellent cooking performance, as well as very quiet.
