The cook top

Not quite perfect

There are two features that don't seem to work well.
One is the "Optisim" burner. Moving it to the back left corner would help because it's not frequently used. Or just eliminate it and replace it with a regular burner.
My second gripe is with the stainless base. It scratches way too easily. My cooktop is only 2 months old, and it looks terrible. The only way it gets scratched is by removing the grates for cleaning. I bought this for the long term, and it's already showing signs of aging.
Stainless steel should be more durable.
This does not represent a quality investment.

Delicate control knobs

The stove is fine. The knobs, not so much. The casings are plastic and, buuried deep in the manual, we are cautioned not to clean them in a dishwasher. Really??? Well, I did that and now I need new ones, all of them.

Faulty Parts

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The knobs to this cooktop break frequently. I'm approaching spending as much money on replacement knobs as I spent on the cooktop. If you buy this get 6-8 replacement knobs. The plastic that slides over the metal post on the cooktop becomes brittle and crumbles to pieces.
