Comparing my new double oven to old GE oven

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve only had the oven about 2 weeks and have only baked a few things in it. I replaced an almost 40 year old GE double oven. Here’s what I found really different: - first of all, the dimensions. Though it is almost the same size, the interior is more wide and shallow. So I have to put my baking pans in with the long side parallel to the oven window, instead of perpendicular to it. To me, this seems harder to get the pan in/out. Also, this means I don’t rotate the pan while baking because it’s too hard to do it. In theory, the oven should bake more evenly (because the fan is always working, even if not in convection mode) and I shouldn’t have to rotate anyway.
- the insulation of the glass oven door has really improved. Not only can I see through it easily (compared to my old oven), but the door does not get warm.
- there is a brilliant oven light, but when you turn it on, it turns on in both ovens. A tiny nitpick.
- This oven takes about 10 mins to preheat to 350. Seems like my old oven was faster, but maybe I’m just more aware because you can’t set the oven timer until the desired temp has been reached. As a result, I end up not using the oven timer.
- The racks started off with a weird stain on them. Hopefully that will cook off.
- I guess the even cooking is working, as i baked 2 tins of bran muffins (normally takes 13 minutes), and both cooked evenly and 1-2 mins faster than my old oven.
So I’m very satisfied with this double oven, I just haven’t used it enough yet

Frigidaire double oven

I love it. I waited 3 months for this. Because the previous 2 ovens that were installed never worked from day one and and those were whirlpools.! We've had it for 2 weeks, and no problems. I also purchased a Frigidaire glass top stove. And I love that just as much except we have to clean it a lot.
