Every building in this series is unique. I love adding the new sets to my growing city. The boutique hotel has very interesting design elements that were so fun to build. I can’t wait for the next set in the series.

Beautiful and innovative modular

For the most part, modular buildings are all constructed on the exact same square baseplate. That has led to a lot of, well, square-ish buildings. That's fine - it gives a general visual cohesion to the modular lineup. It's also a big part of what makes the Boutique Hotel stand out so much. The angles at play in this set make for a sensational and much-needed pop of visual flair in a modular collection, although they do tend to limit the options for where the Hotel lives in a modular city (it's best as a corner piece, for obvious reasons). The details, as with every modular, are outstanding, and the colors and design overall are so much fun. It's one of my favorite modular sets.

I am just getting into brick building, starting with Lego’s botanicals. This set is my largest “construction” yet. The directions are easy to follow and no pieces seem to be missing. I am amazed by the skill of the designers for the details.
