Great Lego Set

The only reason I didn't give this Lego set a 5 star rating is due to the instructions. There are different shades of brown that are hard to distinguish between and the art on the darkest brown is so dark you have issues counting the number of dots or if there are even dots on the top of the piece. Also the white pieces are tinted blue in the images. The set was missing several pieces which seems to be the norm these days. The detail in this set is excellent - way beyond what I expected. The actual building of the set is fun the reason for the low score is due to the color issues in the instructions. No repetition, neat colors and shapes and interesting facts about the origin of the parts in the instructions. My wife and I collect all the holiday sets and center them around the modular buildings for our Christmas decoration. All in all we are glad we bought this set.

First Corner Adult Build

Over the weekend, my daughter and I purchased this set to add to our modular set collection. I’m not a fan of corner build sets, but she convinced me to purchase because we thought the display was nice in the Lego store. I must say the building experience was excellent. I read other reviews and agree with others comments of how interesting it was to put this set together. The techniques used on some of the areas were fun and different from other sets we have. However, there are some things about this set that I did not like. The roof railing seems unfinished with one side being empty. The art gallery is too small with barely enough room for one minifigure. No bathroom on the second floor makes no sense for a hotel. Lastly, I think the hotel would have worked better without the gallery on the outside. Maybe a dining area or bar on the ground floor. The art gallery/museum seems like it should be its own Modular set in the future. In all, I think the pros of this set building experience narrowly outweighs the cons. This will probably be my only corner set. Our display setup for our Lego modular builds does not accommodate corner set well. Right now, I just have it sitting on a shelf alone. I hope I see a grand hotel or living quarters such as a villa, apartment complex, flat houses in the future.

This is one of my favorites

I got into the Modular Building line with the release of the Diner, and have loved it ever since. This is definitely one of the better sets from the outside, which gives off an old Florida vibe. The page 230 thing that other people have mentioned is definitely strange, but it is not the worst thing ever. My only gripe with this set, the Police Station, and the Library Modular sets is that they don’t include vehicles. The Diner had the beautiful pink Cadillac, the Garage had the tow truck, but these last three haven’t had anything. Overall, this is defiantly one of my favorite sets and I would recommend it to anyone who is considering buying it.

Beautiful and worthy addition to the modular line

When they released pictures for this set my jaw dropped! the sand green with the light nougat color is absolutely beautiful. The lime green tree really pops and adds so much character to this set as well. The stairs that lead up to the patio were perhaps my favorite part of the build. They are so worn and fun. Just perfect. The art studio is amazing as well. The art displays were a lot of fun to build. This has knocked the Brick Bank from its throne as my favorite corner building. Wow, what a fun build.
