Good, not my favorite thou

As already detailed in many reviews, some love this set, other not so much. I am in the middle. One of the biggest issues I have with the set is the 3rd floor is a brick shorter then the 2nd. This does not look good on the interior with the doors frames coming right to the celling. Also makes the Hotel noticeable shorter then most other Modulars of the series. We added a brick overall to the 3rd floor height and in my opinion looks much better. Will get the correct colors for bricks added when available thru bricks and pieces (no Flesh color bricks available)
Only real disappoint was Lego did not offer the Taxi Gift With Purchase when set was released. Wish I had delayed purchase. Will know better next time.
Warning, the first floor of this set is not secured well. When moving this modular to our city, the first floor gave way and sent the model crashing to the floor. It is Lego so just rebuilt anything that broke, wish design was al little stronger,
Overall this is a good set, and if you have a good place in your display for it feel you will not be disappointed. Just be careful should you decide to move it!

Interesting concepts but poor player experience

The variable room sizes are true to an authentic boutique hotel. The fine art showroom is a nice touch. The step by step instructions make this a build for any level of experience.
However, player experience is extremely poor. The fine art showroom is so small that minifigures do not fit. Even taking the desk and chair out make the space challenging to use. While the wedge shaped structure makes the hotel more unique, there is such a waste of space behind and around the building, that if used would have allowed for not only better playability but for interior design. For example an elevator would allow the porter to bring bags to the rooms when the cart is needed (or what is the purpose of even including a cart?) or have space to bring suitcases inside all rooms, to include a bathroom in more than a single room or more attention to fine detail-more could have been included in the lobby where there is a complete waste of space. These are just some examples. For me, paying the price to have a wedge shaped building is not worth the cost of the set.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great Lego Set

The only reason I didn't give this Lego set a 5 star rating is due to the instructions. There are different shades of brown that are hard to distinguish between and the art on the darkest brown is so dark you have issues counting the number of dots or if there are even dots on the top of the piece. Also the white pieces are tinted blue in the images. The set was missing several pieces which seems to be the norm these days. The detail in this set is excellent - way beyond what I expected. The actual building of the set is fun the reason for the low score is due to the color issues in the instructions. No repetition, neat colors and shapes and interesting facts about the origin of the parts in the instructions. My wife and I collect all the holiday sets and center them around the modular buildings for our Christmas decoration. All in all we are glad we bought this set.

Boutique hotel & Tiny Pieces

The Boutique hotel was a Ginormous building
I had to build. It took forever building it.
There were lots of small pieces I had to put together. The hotel has lots and lots and lots and lots and lots of detail. The rooms were extremely cramped. It can be difficult placing the furniture in place If you have giant hands.
It can be difficult to play in the building. I recommend displaying in your closet (put it securely on a shelf) and forget about it do you don't have the risk of redoing the tedious build. Display this last i recommend. The other sets may be less difficult to redo so they don't have to be in a closet. It was definitely an expert build with the amount of small pieces I had to deal with hours upon hours upon hours upon hours upon hours upon hours upon hours upon hours on end. I had to put 3066 whole pieces There were a few giant pieces. That was nice for a short while then I was stuck with the little tiny pieces. They are soo small that they can be difficult to hold on to. Even step one started with a tiny piece! There was alot on each step. There were many challenging spots especially placing the small pieces. The instructions were very very thick. I had to flip 288 pages and do about 450 steps. When I opened the box I saw lots and lots of packets. They were all numbered. The set came with a pretty big land. The smallest pieces were the tiny round pieces. They can drop easily. It would also be hard to find again. If anyone wants an ultimate challenge or loves building tiny pieces then here is the perfect set for you

I have been working with Legos for most of my life. First bought legos for mysids and then I got more enjoyment from them as they got better. Have 5 expert creator sets and when I got the hotel I will say it is the best of all. i plan to complete the whole modular group as they become available. I have the police station on the way to go with the hotel. Keepthem coming.I have the Asatin Martin, the Tree, Volkswagen camper and the Land Rover which was also very enjoyable to build.c
