I've had the LS300 for a little over six months now. Picture is very bright and at max settings is capable of handling very bightly sunlit rooms albeit with some fan noise. Most of the time, however, I'm able to run at Bright Cinema level with some tweaks 98% of the time and it looks great and fan noise is not noticeable at all. At Vivid settings and above you can start hearing the fan.
My unit is set up with a 103" ALR screen (must by screen separately) and for 1080p HDR content looks very close to 4K. Keep in mind that more recent content that takes advantage of HDR really makes this shine. Older 1080p content still looks very good, but you will notice a better picture with HDR level content.
Movies and regular TV are great.... sports it can suffer a little bit with some fast action judder/pixelation slightly from time to time, but again it's hard to tell if that's a signal content issue... but it's not something you don't see in most TV's still these days anyway. You just don't notice it as much with smaller screens, but at 100" plus it's certainly more noticeable. If that bothers you... you might want to look at a 4K. I still think it looks great and I'm realistic that this 1080p at 100" at a pretty good price.
I don't use the onboard Android apps as I have AppleTV and other streaming options. Unit starts up very fast and has pretty quick response. Gaming is okay (according to my kids).
The speakers are pretty decent, but I never use them as I have a full surround sound setup, but it is nice that if I wanted to move to a bedroom or outside... I have speakers in the unit I can rely on.
Be aware that 100" or larger you will need to pull your entertainment stand out from the wall to get the distance needed. That's the dirty little secret about pretty much all UST projectors at 100" or larger... in any review or picture pay close attention to how the stand it's sitting on is pulled discretely out from the wall. That might annoy some folks, so just a warning. The part I really enjoy, however, is if someone gets up to leave, etc. you're not blocking the projected image and they're not getting blinded by the project or image.
It does take some fiddling with the distance, positioning, and manual focus to get right. I don't understand those that complain as it requires no tools. Like you don't have to do that with a standard projector... or heaven forbid a ceiling mounted projector.
Great projector with excellent color pop and brightness. Really brings the movie theater experience to your home at a very good price.

This replaced my Sony Bravia long throw projector which blew up shortly after buying a new lamp for it. The difference amazed me. I'm not sure of the lumen output of the Sony but we had to turn the lights almost off to get a good picture. We get a perfect picture with the lights on. A breeze to set up too.

Bought this for movies and live sports and the picture and sounds are both simply amazing. What a great feature to not have to mount a unit overhead and worry about shadows and other bothers while watching a movie or sporting event. College football players look truly larger than life with the 120" screen. It's everything I wanted in a projector and more.

Had it for a couple months now and had issues with getting the screen distortion correct. The focus adjustment is useless ! Either the top right gets corrected or bottom left. Project or is aligned as evenly and level as I can get it. Very poor documentation on adjusting the keystoning image using the software adjustments to correct image. I believe the lense is out of physical alignment causing the focus to not work correctly. Colors are amazing but the out of focus on the corners is exhausting to fix. Measured distances and moved my screen twice to accommodate projector. When perfectly measured to the wall and level
using a level with no screen I have a keystoning image and it shouldn't unless the lense is off. There should be lense adjustment screws on the bottom to align the lense for fine tuning. Also noticed a little dust inside behind the lense glass.. Poor quality control !

I was so glad that I was asked to be a beta tester for the LS300W projector. I had no idea about projectors, other than they show a picture on a wall and are cumbersome. Anything but!!! I grabbed my husband Ben to open the box. We took it out of the box, so surprised that the projector was compact and cool. Now the excitement really began to grow. We took out the instructions and had fun sorting through all the different languages on the pamphlets. We found a place to try it out, plugged it in....and like magic we had music and a picture. Where was that picture you ask? Well, it was on the ceiling. We checked the pamphlet for guidance and couldn’t figure out what we did wrong. We went with it and completed more steps. When we got to the applications, we found YouTube and played a video. The picture was still on the ceiling. Mind you, we have now moved it 4 times before we tried it outside. Anyway...we played the video, heard the music AND the Epson default. We called it a night and contacted Epson after the weekend.
Day 2 I called Epson and spoke with Victor, who was so kind to inform us that we needed to put the projector about a foot and a half from the wall/screen. Then I asked “which way to face the speaker” and he clarified that the speaker faces the “audience”. We finally got it - the FANTASTIC-BRIGHT-COLORFUL-HUGE picture on the wall and NOT on the ceiling! So cool! Thank you Victor. We thought we were all set up and ready to go, until we realized that we still had the dual sound. We called back and got Christopher. He was wonderful. He explained that we had not completed the setup. By the third step he had helped my daughter and I through the process and what we had missed. Finally, we were able to enjoy a video with amazing sound quality and an awesome easy-to-use remote that even my parents can use.
Our overall assessment of the LS300W is 10 out 10! However, Epson setup instructions are 7.5 out of 10. Reasons are where the projector is placed and the troubleshooting guide didn’t answer our question for sound and picture. Both picture and sound, after finishing the setup are both 10 out of 10. The best part of the process was the Epson customer service, including Donald, our brand rep. We are looking forward to football season, GO CHIEFS and our first outdoor movie with friends and family. “This is a review for the Epson EpiqVision Ultra LS300 Smart Streaming Laser projector that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.”

I came to the party late but I always do. I stay 1-2 generations behind when I buy TV's or Projectors. Don't really care about the biggest scam ever...4k video, it's been around for years and there's still very little content out there. Got the LS 300 for under 1k, actually cheaper than the LG UST I purchased 6 years ago that it is replacing. Very happy with it so far, great pic, minimal issues with the ambient lighting in the daytime, my LG was unwatchable as soon as the sun rose and severely degraded at night when I turned any lights on. A few things the did bother me but are not deal breakers: An ethernet port would have been nice, so far I have 0 issues using WiFi since it's sitting right next to the router. When making picture adjustment the screen pauses, making the process a bit difficult. However if you have a Roku, Nvidia or other streaming device connected, it does not pause the picture and you can see the adjustments being made real time. There is no auto off function, this is almost essential for projectors, even though you don't really need to worry about bulb life, that would been nice. The focus wheel on the side of the projector doesn't move smoothly, making it difficult to be precise. No Netflix, what is that about? Every other Android device I own has Netflix. Playing around with it, I think the picture quality on my Nvidia Shield is better than the internal Android. Like I said, none of these are deal breakers, especially for the price. I'm able to work around all. I was actually looking for just a UST projector, no speakers, not smart. Just a projector. I've got multiple ways to get my content via PC, streaming device, etc. and have not used internal speakers on anything in about 30 years. Sadly, there is no such UST projector. Overall I'm very happy so far.
